The only thing I worry about is that I've seen multiple sources saying Schalke are "desperate to sell". Is that because they're in financial trouble after relegation or that he's a bit shite?

Schalke are pretty ****ed financially I think.

But the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. He could also be a bit shite.

Personally I think as a backup centre back he'd be a good addition. He's still young, has played with Soyuncu, and will likely be happy enough as 4th centre back for now but good enough to also push for a place.
