The same Steffen that has just had a knee operation and will be out for 3-4 months . . . sounds like our kind of player.

What a truly incredible week of signings that was…….
Leicester City have today (Friday) completed a major transfer coup in securing the signing of former Newcastle United and Wolves striker Carl Cort.

Cort, who moved to St James' Park from Wimbledon in a deal worth £7 million in 2000, joins the Foxes on a two-year contract.

The 29-year-old becomes manager Martin Allen's fourth signing of the week - following the capture of former AC Milan and Bolton defender Bruno N'Gotty, highly rated Danish goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen and young striker Ricky Sappleton.

And Allen confirmed that he had beaten off competition from a number of clubs to secure his most recent acquisition's signature.
