Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded winter 2022/23 rumours thread

He's been a decent squad option. There was a period during the return from lockdown where he was our best, most consistent player.

He hasn't delivered as much as he could or probably should have but he wasn't helped by being played as a ****ing out and out winger for most of his time here.

Therein lies the trouble. We've signed a load of supposedly 'decent squad options' over the last few years. Turns out when we need them, they're a pile of shit.
He hasn't been. Of late he's looked like the only ****er worth sticking with. Look, I get he's had quite a few shite games and he hasn't been as good as he could have been, but in the grand scheme of things he's been a decent squad option for us.

Like I say, he probably wasn't helped by being stuck out wide almost every time he played.

Harry Souttar has played as a centre-back for: Brechin City Boys, Dundee Utd, Stoke (then went on loan), Ross County, Fleetwood Town
Suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Nov 2021 whilst playing for Australia
Played for Scotland's under 17 before being called up to Australia's under 23 (he at that point switched his allegiance as his mother was born in Perth Australia.
Played for Australia in the recent world cup
He's 6 ft 6in and was born in Aberdeen and has a brother who plays for Glasgow Rangers & Scotland

Perez was a decent squad player and I maintain we need some Perez and Amarteys. We’re not Man City so will never have massive squad depth.

But as BN has noted that is all we have signed in recent years and the lack of progression from Brendan’s first line up proves that. We’ve also relied on them far too often due to the ridiculous injuries, and handled them badly in terms of being frozen out and then randomly included.

The Gillingham game showed these squad players are simply not good enough.

Oh come on people, Perez has got to be one of the worst returns on investment in recent years - the hattrick against Southampton just shows how shite they were that night and one assist on top of it does in no way make it anywhere near a worthwhile transfer.

He's been an OK player for us but that's really stretching it tbh. Works hard but offers **** all where it matters.

When you consider the transfer fee and likely wages of £100k, its been a horrific waste of money.

We'd have got more from keeping and playing Demarai Gray instead of Perez for all his appearances.
