Yeah been a couple of times, never in the summer though so can't offer any useful tips

We know a few people who live in the Alps though and they reckon it's the most lively resort (and biggest ski area) in the summer so that's why we're going there

Last time I went we got caught up in a storm near the top of the mountain, it got to about -37 wind chill and we got escorted off by the mountain staff (all our beards that we were growing for a laugh froze!) but I would hope it won't be like that in July

Sounds top!

Just a quick question, how you guys getting there? Me and my mate are struggling, we can get flight but its getting from Lyon/Geneva to the resort. Transfers are extortionate, so car hire is an option, but also not cheap. Thort about driving it, but its at least 13hrs travel, some hike that!

Any help or ideas would be most appreciated.

Cheers

We've always booked cheap flights and car hire so we can follow the snow when we go boarding, we then normally book the accommodation late depending on where the best conditions are

We've done the same this time, booked flights to Grenoble and car hire so that we can sort ourselves out

I agree on transfers, they always seem very expensive to me so personally I would hire a car, have you tried using a comparison site like www.travelsupermarket.com to see what deals might be out there?

Think that looks like our best bet. Weve got flights at around £180 each, then looking at car hire from £80 each (my mate can get discount through his work), accom at £150 each. Have checked the drive on google maps, not too bad, around 2hrs, altho there seems to be a few toll roads. Reckon that is the route we will take.

Cheers mate

Have a look at http://www.carjet.co.uk as well for car hire

Off to Alcudia on Tuesday for 11 days with the Mrs and kids. Just checked the weather and it is supposed to be sodding raining. What are the chances? :102:

i wouldnt take too much notice of online weather, because when we went away it had forecasted thundertorms/showers virtually every day which wasnt the case as we only had rain/showers for 2 days

Alcudia is the worst place I've been for weather in the middle of the Summer.

Funnily enough, Alcudia is the only place I have been to around this time of the year where it has rained.

It would be ****ing typical if it did rain for the 11 days I am there!! :icon_lol: Just looked at MSN and their outlook is a lot better now. Hopefully no rain at all.
