Aaargh, that was misjudged. Apologies to all, especially David, for going off on one like that. Had a lot on my mind lately etc. Will stick to the match threads in future.

What is it exactly that you're apologising for? I can only see one other post from you in this thread and it is perfectly reasonable, relevant and cogent, in fact it's a fine example of somebody that is not "going off on one"

Aah wait now, I think I've sussed what might be troubling you, you think that everybody will've just lumped you in with me?
Yeah, that was probably a bit misjudged of you, to be fair

I was drunk when I posted, so I later assumed I'd started ranting, apparently not so which is good. I try not to get into this stuff on the internet, it rarely accomplishes anything. Sometimes something sets me off though.

I should make it clear that when I say Dean Hammond is calm I do not mean the deep calm of a Jedi Master like Steve Walsh Sr. Dean Hammond is quiet and understated. He is Leicester's answer to RICHARD WATTIS
Mr Hammond I salute you.

For those who do not know who have never heard of Richard Wattis - shame on you. He was a character actor in 1950s black and white films who gave wonderful portrayals of very conventional types - his skill was in making dullness funny. Making dullness funny was what I was trying for with the thread.

Like everybody else I don't understand the early 21st Century However, no doubt there is some toddler alive at the moment who in forty or fifty years time will understand it. When some historian in 2060 writes about the period perhaps Macky and Polar Bear will be shown to be right If so I will start a new thread on Talking Balls to congratulate them .
