Maybe the speakers are crap in your area then.

Where I sit it doesn't matter how loud the cheering etc is when we score, the PHG is even louder.

I'm sure great care was taken and huge sums of cash were lavished to ensure that the sound system delivers sound to all parts. My point is that I don't hear it because I am to busy with other things. Why would I want to let anybody or anything else interfere with what I want to do at that most supreme of moments when City score.

I understand some people can't crap in a public toilet, presumably because of 'outside interference' - I have sympathy for them. I'm not sure whether my sympathy extends to people who can't concentrate on celebrating a goal just because of a little music; I'm sure they could if they set their mind to it.

I'm not sure I can 'choose' what I want to hear!

Are you able to tune out Rosemary in the same way? :icon_wink

Ab-ser-bloody-lutely!!

And it may be true that you can't choose what you hear - but you can certainly choose what you listen to.

im not sure the reasoning to change to the jazzed up, does anyone know why the club did this?

It is the Hooked on Classics version.

The "discovery" of this version was originally made by a Foxes Talk poster who posted a link on the message board.

Following a few positive comments, the link was then sent (can't remember if it was the original poster or another one) to the club who had been looking for a "jazzed up" version for sometime & it's been used ever since.

I don't mind it, actually - it's better than that old fecker Henry playing his horn off key every bleedin' time (you would think at his age he might have learned the tune by now) and then bowing to the crowd as if he's something special. And it's better than the old version because you can actually hear it.

It's all the other horseshit I can't stand - particularly the music being played up to the last second before kick-off (when, in the good old days, the atmosphere used to be building), the steel band or the happy-clappy choir and the pitiful caricature that Alan Birchenall has now become

All soon to be enhanced by the new Leicester City band

Great work you're doing, FT....

need to get rid of that crappy goal noise.. need a new one, its not really a sort of song or anything fans can sing when the balls gone in the back of the net, ... someone should write to complain!!
I told them we don't need any music when we score, or music right up to kick off etc, but as far as they are concerned the majority are happy to have it.

I would have written that Homer, but I don't need to now

the majority? i wonder where this majority are. does everyone but me get asked about crap like this? i find it embarassing, a load of us standing up and cheering followed by "leicester, leicester...." is surely enough to creat atmosphere. the original post horn gallop was a bit pants, traditional but pants, this new one is purely to embarass us as far as i am concerned

At the risk of abject derision, I like both tunes. The one before the teams come out really builds the excitement for my two grandchildren. The goal scored one encourages them to carrying on clapping and cheering longer than they might do, which has got to be good for the players. Far better than Birch's "The teams are in the tunnel". Where else would they be at 2.55 FFS? And the team name calling I find embarrassing. I would rather he just read their name and position, or better still let the Tannoy guy do it!

I think the "majority" exist in their own tiny little minds... I hate the jazzed up phg and REALLY hate the 2untalented with a passion... absolute tripe of the highest order

After a rendering of "Top Cat" in the QPR build up today, I think we should count our blessings!

Could'nt agree more we don't need anything when we score the noise of the crowd should be the only sound. playing music stops the fans from launching into song.
