Any sign of an unveiling ceremony yet?
Dragging their heals a bit considering it's been a done deal for months.

We'll unveil him when you pay your players and tax bill apparently. Looks like next season then :icon_wink

I believe the yanks kept Benitez at Liverpool too.
And our Malaysians were keen to retain DJ.

and the list just goes on.

Somepeople just don't think enough before posting.

not at all, otherw*s* we wouldn't have anybody to take the piss out of

That's a relief.

Back on the subject, it looks like we'll have to wait at least another 3 months then for Meeelan to resort to the SteCla/IwRo management 'dream' team - (and who hasn't dreamt about it) - more the shame really.

Anyone ever wondered what Franck Rolling is up to these days? I'm a bit miffed that our first ever foreign management team wasn't the irrepressible triumverate of 90's heroes Rolling/Kaamark/Kalac.

That was going to happen prior to Mad Martin Allen being appointed but Kalac dropped all the paperwork into the canal, so Milan thought the team weren't taking the job seriously....

The sad fact is, it is a common highly predictable trait of all new bosses to want to bring in and appoint their own hierarchy of senior and middle managers. It happens everywhere, including in football. Thus new club owners = new manager wanted.

Is this true outside football? My experience is that bosses outside football have to work with the people they inherit. This can include a number of people who were internal candidates and wonder why you got the job and they didn't.
Football managers are lucky in being allowed to bring in people who they rate highly and who are loyal to them.

Deal broken down as Meelan didn't want a fourth contract handing to Juninho who was found still in Kaamark's pocket.

As has been pointed out to you before only a few days ago, City reportedly matched Bolton's offer but he chose to go to the Premier League instead. Why do you keep ignoring this and using it to bash the club over the head?

You may have the wrong guy, I haven't raised this before. Moreover, I am not bashing the club. I have said in this and another thread that the new man will have more money to spend than he had at Swansea. But not a hugely open cheque book. If new investors come in, he could have considerably more to spend than he had at Swansea and more than NP had.

I have referred elsewhere to MM's apparent need for prudent spending. I have not criticised him or the club for this at all, but explained it as being totally understandable.

As for other posters who dispute my managerial changes argument - your examples about Ferguson & Wenger are well made. However they are/were so successful it would have been a tall order to have sacked them On the other hand, I can point to Raneri (sp) being chopped for Mourinhio and Hughes being axed by new owners at Man City. Even at LCFC I was not convinced that MM was really behind Rob Kelly, and of course did axe him in the end. Sometimes new owners give you a season or part of a season rather than instant dismissal. As for the tendency for top bosses to want to hire and fire the management team beneath them rather than put up with whom they inherit, well I'm only speaking from my own experience and from some reports in the corporate world and I do see a lot of this happening. But it doesn't happen a 100% of the time and I over-stated my case. My feeling is that it does happens a lot though.

4 lines Matt, why break your own rule. Silly boy.

Ah! That's where the disloyal ****er has gone. I knew he had come back from Blackpool but I presumed he was lazing about down Belvoir Drive.
