and its all Hoo's doing, forcing Pearson to move on, in which he did by going Hull.

One slight problem with that. It's common knowledge that NP is quite keen on James Harper, the former Reading player. If Hoos wanted NP out why was he in talks with Harper's agent around three weeks ago to bring Harper to Leicester? Seems as if Hoos had no idea that NP was about to jump ship if you ask me.

I wonder whether we have lost any possible loan deals with Liverpool over Jay Spearing or with Sunderland over Ryan Noble. It will be annoying if they are playing for Hull next season - especially Spearing who I thought was very promising.

It would have been obvious to MM that NP was not committed to Leicester and given his past past bad experiences in replacing managers, I guess that he had Sousa as an option this time round..

I doubt if the whole exercise was pre-planned down to the last detail, but I would like to think that MM had a contingency in place.

Chopping and changing managers doesn't work very often, so I can't see this as a desirable turn of events - but at least MM seems to have come up with a credible replacement.

I agree. I was and am disappointed that Nigel has left and even more that Steve Walsh has left. However, in the aftermath of Nigel going I thought we were going to appoint one of the "usual suspects".

Sousa has generally done well at Swansea. It seems the question mark has been over his choices in the transfer market and this is where I would have loved to have seen us keep Walsh. It will be difficult to match our recent success in the loan market (McGivern excepted).

Since I deliberately sit close to the manager trying to hear what he is shouting to the players I feel Sousa will certainly be more entertaining than Southgate, Coleman or Dowie.

Sousa's appointment at least shows we aren't brasso'd like many have suggested. Clearly we are struggling but it's not as bad as uncle Mandy needing the compo etc.

Indeed, though I would imagine the compo for Pearson wasn't too different to Sousa, and Hull may even have paid some so he won't be any more out of pocket. But yes, he clearly doesn't need to hang on the NP compo.

Expect the Mercury to report that he has been promised £15m tomorrow.

What is so great about Steve Walsh? I'm sure that Sousa, with his excellent career, has significantly more and better contacts than Mr Walsh.

I don't think contacts are as important in football as the ability to spot a good player. Walsheh certainly showed he could spot a player while he was here, while there have been plenty of great, well-connected, players who have been fools in the transfer market as managers.

Which 'good players' did he actually spot? Jack Hobbs certainly has potential and Morrison is making progress. Other than that?

Is Walsh any better than his predecessors who spotted - Alan Smith, Kevin McDonald, Steve Guppy, Muzzy Izzet, Neil Lennon..

What about the likes of McGivern and Neilsen?

Pretty much. He says the same old shit everytime he appoints a new manager

But what else would we expect him to say? That last lot were a load of shyte, saved me the trouble of pulling the trapdoor switch - wankers.

Although it would make a change.

Gianfranco Zola, Didier Drogba, David Ginola, Faustino Asprilla and Roberto Di Matteo to name a few.

I still think Kermorgant could come good.
