The History Channel has a one hour documentary about Claudio today. Starts at 1pm.
Can't get rid of this ****ing echo!
Poor Claudio
... or not. Lucky Leicester apparently should have won seven fewer points last season if adjusted to allow for incorrect refereeing decisions, overplaying injury time, deflections ... etc.

Though, presumably as we're not allowed to win anything ever again, the report seems to consider Man U the luckiest, with six "lucky points", and arguably Huddersfield, who would have been relegated if unlucky Stoke had harvested the four points they were unluckily denied.
I await this season's table with a considerable amount of indifference.
I stopped reading when it adjusted for 'deflected goals'...... or not. Lucky Leicester apparently should have won seven fewer points last season if adjusted to allow for incorrect refereeing decisions, overplaying injury time, deflections ... etc.

Yep that was the bit that got me too. "Just **** off now" is the only possible response to something like that.I stopped reading when it adjusted for 'deflected goals'...
They’re a bit slow to the party.Nothing we don't already know, but interesting that the nationals finally comment on our relationship with Leuven.

I've absolutely no sympathy for Wednesday. They should have taken our very good offer if they were so strapped of cash or treated the player with far more respect than to try and stall his career. Football clubs are now businesses and act as such. Yes, we may have circumvented the rules slightly but we are doing nothing that most of the top six haven't been doing for years. If he turns out to be half as good as I think he will, this may prove to be a fantastic move from us.Nothing we don't already know, but interesting that the nationals finally comment on our relationship with Leuven.

This is the main reason that modern football is going to the dogs, right here.
I don't like it any more than you do.
But as I often say to people, there are 2 worlds. The world I want to live in & the world I have to live in. I don't like living under a government that uses needless austerity measures to skew society in favour of those with already built in advantages. I don't like the fact that drinking a can of cider in the street on a hot day could get me fined. I don't like companies being given public money despite being inept while citizens are deprived of services their taxes are supposed to pay for.
All these things exist. So I have to live with them as that's how things are. We can all try our best to change them but until that happens we have to live in the current reality. It's in very, VERY recent memory that we were the sort of club who would have been shafted in this same way so I'm just grateful we're not anymore. Wednesday have behave like wankers through the whole process anyway & have probably got what they deserved so that eases my feelings a touch.
It isn't. They tried to stall the progression of a young footballer by freezing him out of the game. That's really what's wrong with modern football. This is the main reason that modern football is going to the dogs, right here.
Absolutely all of this. I hate it when people bang on about how much players owe clubs. They don't. Clubs make millions on the backs of players from merchandise to prize money to television cash. All this bollocks about 'loyalty' spouted by fans and pundits alike is nonsense. The word 'loyalty' should really be kept for things that matter far more than what colour shirt a footballer chooses to wear.Players owe no loyalty to clubs, they certainly don't owe them their careers. Literally the only person who matters in this whole thing is the player. It's his development, his career, his wallet that will be affected. Sheffield Wednesday Football Club will survive just fine for missing out on a deal that may one day have been worth a couple of million quid.
Exactly. Loyalty in football is nonsense, it's bizarre to think otherwise. Clubs have zero loyalty to players, they're just businesses like every other. Players should take every chance they can to get whatever they want to out of the game.Absolutely all of this. I hate it when people bang on about how much players owe clubs. They don't.
