oh and blood is red for the same reason as rust, it contains iron

Blood is red because red blood cells turn red when oxygen is present, hence why blue blood is visible in your veins after the oxygen is spent.

well yes, haemoglobin and oxyhaemoglobin reflect different wavelengths

the answer to any colour question is: - because that particular substance absorbs/reflects so and so wavelengths
