i used to work for Select Service Partner, they run the food in the stations...

that was on Virgin website.. dont know where you look

If I just wanted to know what the online ticket sites say I wouldn't have asked the question.

I was hoping an expert would know of the best way to split the journey into several tickets to make it cheaper. I did find a way of doing it the other day but I've forgotten how I did it :icon_conf

On the subject of trains, can anyone work out the cheapest way of getting from Nuneaton to Ayr on Wednesday this week, with a flexible return date?

0/10 £87 is the Saver Single fare. Saver Return fare is £88 (not via Glasgow). If you want to travel via Glasgow, it is £94.80.

You might be better to buy an Advanced single at £33.50, if you will have at least a couple of day's notice of your return journey. (still available on the 10:22 from Nuneaton, arrives Ayr 16:24 having changed at Crewe AND Glasgow Central.

I can't see that any split of SVRs will be cheaper than 2 x Advance Singles.

If you split SVRs at Carlisle, and get a Carlisle -> Ayr (roiute Dumfries) ticket the total would be £80.80

Splitting at Preston would make a total of £91 (more via Glasgow) - so no good.

There are not enough trains which stop at other stations to think about anywhere else.
