i am a trains fan here in the netherlands but i hate catching the train in england, they are slow and always cramped and late, here there are mostly on time and you can always sit down and ther are so cheap.

Leicester to London in 70 minutes isn't slow. And I can't remember the last time I was on a train that was late, or the last time I couldn't get a seat. Maybe you've just been unlucky.

Can't get a seat on the 16.10 Mallaig to Fort William one this time of year, fecking tourists...

Well maybe its prob the fact that last time i went on a train was a good couple of months ago and i always try avoid the train in england, i rather just drive, only problem is it does cost much more.

I'm considering getting rid of my car, I'd much rather travel long distances on the train, it usually works out to be quicker and cheaper (you just need to know how to get the cheapest tickets), and every time I drive somewhere I just get pissed off by the traffic and idiot drivers.
I'm sure if I used public transport, taxis and hiring a car when I need one would work out much cheaper than owning a car. Can't decide yet whether the inconvenience of not having a car is worth the cost saving.

i sold my car, and i been using public transport, trains trams bus and it has worked out so much more cheaper its a good move and when you have to go somewhere near by to get the daily shopping its so much more easier to walk, i hate the fact you always have to wait for parking and catching the bus into town is much better, the only piss take is waiting for the bus train tram, but its never a big wait always a couple of minutes.

I agree with you Jeff,

in that case i might start selling trains and busses to replace cars.
