Well, if you don't like it, don't go.

There, now that's cleared up... what shall we talk about next?

That's an easy answer for somebody who had no intention or hope of going anyway. But for the rest of us, the last home game of the season is something special. It shouldn't be tucked away on a Friday night or pushed into a Sunday afternoon.

Exactly.

I doubt it's any consolation, but a couple of Tiggers fans I know are just as unhappy at this decision. They want to know why the stand cannot be demolished a week later. They want the last game of the season in front of their old stand.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't same as always. If they hadn't enquired about it people would have questioned where they were, when they do they get shit.

I know.... the FT are only doing their best tackling this mega issue: first we get climate change then the credit crunch and global financial melt down and now, now, we get this ground sharing arrangement without full and proper consultation with the very organisation that saved our club from extinction and which continues to look after every supporter's interests.

I realise that my old age can bring on a touch of amnesia, but have I missed something? Isn't the final league fixture of the season these days often played on a Sunday? So what's so horrific about the penultimate fixture also being played on a Sunday?

When was the last time we played a fixture on a Sunday less than 24 hours after it being cut up to buggery by a rugby match?

Has Boc ever said he likes the last game being played on a Sunday?

So why do you think he should change his opinion if it's the penultimate game?

No I have to confess that I have never conducted a survey on that particular matter. Obviously, I now feel really embarrassed that I have to acknowledge that I have never fully researched his views on what day the last fixture or indeed the penultimate fixture (if it is a home or alrenatively if it is an away game) should be played.

Let's just hope that we are promoted before some of our fellow supporters are traumatised by this matter.....obviously i am not referring in particular to Boc or indeed any other real person either living or not.

No, I haven't. In fact, I don't think football should ever be played on a Sunday. Nor do I agree with the changes brought about by the Sunday Trading Act 1994.

:081: - nice one. But please note that the main thrust of my comment is not in relation to this game been played on the Sunday.

It will cost me more time and money if it is played on the Friday evening (or any other evening). So from that point of view, the Sunday would be preferable - that would cost me only more time, of which I have plenty.

My concern is about the match being moved at all. It is not lcfc who have caused the problem; it should not therefore be for them to sort it out. The fact is that the Tigers can not play their game in Leicester that day, with or without the intervention of the SAG. It should be for them to sort it out without inconveniencing football fans.

I am also disappointed to see the club seem to suggest that there was consultation with 'fans groups' on this when there was not.

From the latest FCC minutes

At the start of the season every effort is made to work with the rugby and football authorities to keep clashes to a minimum.
The committee were asked for their preferences in terms of kick off times and days if we had to make a change. With this is mind AN said that due to the increase in capacity at Welford Road next season, both clubs have been advised by the Safety Advisory Group that matches cannot be played on the same day.
Kevin Bunney said that there would always be a difference of opinion as to whether a Friday night, Sunday afternoon or a later kick off time on a Saturday would be the most popular option.

Although it was asked with next season in mind, I have no idea if they already knew about the Scunthorpe game. Also the Supporter's Club and Foxes Trust were in the meeting. The Disabled Supporter's Association rep couldn't attend the meeting.

For the record, although it wasn't minuted, I did say that Sunday was the better option, taking into consideration those who don't live in Leicestershire. Friday nights just don't seem fair to them.

Having said that, with the Scunneh game specifically, playing on that pitch, regardless of our status for next season being known or not, after the Tiggers have churned it up, makes me wish I'd kept my mouth shut!

The point about consultation is that fans weren't asked whether the match should be moved so the Tigers could play on that day instead.

Now the decision has been made to move the game there's plenty of time to consult fans on which day it should be played, but it shouldn't have been moved in the first place.

The club were never going to ask the fans if we should accommodate the Tiggers. I think they know we would expect them to tell the Tiggers to shove it. All I can say is I hope it's worth effectively prostituting the stadium for it.

I am surprised they want to ask the fans if there was a preference on the day.

Points taken.

Sadly, the whole fixture list thing is these days at the mercy of TV anyway. The fans don't have much influence on such matters - and not many other matters either (except of course when I want to blame the FT for past wrong choices of managers!).

However....as it so happens, as a fair weather supporter these days I want to attend this fixture, and I shall be able to attend on that Sunday or indeed the Friday evening, whereas I have another commitment on the Saturday. So it's an ill wind etc.

That is totally different from removing us from our own ground, so it is correct to say that we (all fans) weren't consulted

The fans are the customers, who with other activities announced this week the club is trying to build a stronger bond, in making this decision it has scored any early own goal with that aim

Don't post that Lisa, surely you want the FCC to move into "what should we" and "what do you think of", rather than fall back into the Mace days or "we are going to"

"

Please try not to peddle this stuff about the club "trying to build a stronger bond" with "customers". Whatever the club or you say it doesn't work like that although I can see that such a process of bonding is a self-justification for the existence of the FT.

The bond between the football club and the fans is strong when the team is winning and it's weak when the team is losing. All this stuff about conducting polls and sounding out the opinions of miniscule alleged representative groups is just froth. The reality is that all most fans are concerned about is whether we win the game...irrespective of whether it is played on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. For what it is worth I preferred it when all week end games were played by all clubs on a saturday afternoon, but regretably the world has moved on since then.

But how many members does the FT have? How representative are you?
