Bill Anderson talking sense  ....

'to me it boils down to this - offers they can't refuse for players against an offer they can't refuse for the club'

Because we don't know what the bid is, and the less intelligent fan assumes this means 25m on the squad still (the Merc being a paper of course they'll spin it this way, but I still wish they didn't). Also, it gets the FT backs up, which makes them say silly things, which makes messageboarders hate them, which I personally don't think is justified or helpful at a time like this when we should all just be hoping for the best deal for the club rather than sniping amongst ourselves.

but maybe he does...

Nobody knows, not even Mandy I suspect, at least until he's done due diligence. What P*sses me off is that the Leicester Mandaric present it as fact, whereas it's PR puff thrown at them by Mandy.

You are speculating that they are speculating. For all you know the £25M could be fact.

So how can they accept or reject on Saturday if they don't know what they offer is. More to the point, how can they even have a meeting about it

As i undertand it the biggest problem with MM's bid, and what is creating all the uncertainty, is the lack of any real detail.

You would have to ask Mandy that, he has chosen to make his bid in this manner. The shareholders will basically be voting on whether they trust him enough to accept the hazy bid he has put in.

I would doubt it, if only for the fact that £25 million stated that way sounds quite " sexy ". If it was actually put as I suspect it may be - a bid of £6million plus £19million of loans it doesn't sound so good. My gripe is the way the Mockery and Mandy have been spinning this to make it appear as if it's £25 million on the table with no strings attached. He's done well with his PR campaign, as my feeling is the the majority of fans think he is going to turn up with £25 million ready to spend with no consequences - if he were to succeed I think they would eventually be rather disappointed.

I find this very difficult to believe. If this is true, I would ask the board to not even hold a meeting let alone give an answer. My guess is that the board and shareholders know 100% the pounds and pence figure that will be going into their bank accounts once this deal has gone threw.

I imagine this meeting is about wether they should trust MM with the football club after there pockets have been lined. In which case, there will be some serious arguments on Saturday from shareholders that are pleased to have their money back and will be pissed off with another shareholder who stops them getting their money back because they don't trust MM.

I'm sure there will be some shareholders who may have put £50,000 in that are now desperate for some money due to different financial changes in their lives, I wouldn't want to be telling that person they can't have it

You are right, the shareholders will know what they are getting, but they will have no idea of what he will do with the club afterwards. As custodians of our club, if that is the case, I hope they throw it out - he should at least indicate them he is not going to run the club in a cavalier fashion. As for wanting their money back, any sane person who put money in to get us out of admin would not have expected a penny back. If that is the case, I hope they look at the larger picture, and not just their wallets.

I expect the shareholders to take into account far bigger issues than how much will end up in their bank account. The future security and success of our club is at stake if they get this wrong.

:icon_lol: :icon_lol: Im sorry but that has to be one of the funniest posts of the year, they are business men at the end of the day, no matter what they say in the media. A majority of them will take the money and run thankful they got anything out of the club. If they get it wrong by selling to MM as you state then they will be long gone with a full bank account. Like they are going to give a toss 5 years down the line.

What are we going to do if it does all go tits up 5 years down the line? feck all its not like we will be banging on the doors of andrew taylor et-al(sp) asking them why they sold and how clearly it is all their bloody fault.

I have real doubts about the supposed 'other bids', at least mandaric is talking about wanting to buy the club the other parties (if they exist) have not even told us who they are, let alone how much they are willing to invest and their future vision for the club, with nothing else real on the table, except carrying on as we are, I don't see how anyone with the good of the club in mind can vote no.

If there are other bids let them step out of the shadows before any decisions are made!
