How bizarre, Dippenaar has been made captain for the Twenty20 competition only.

Doing well today, afraid we will be a few runs short though 135/2 off 18. HD doing as he did last year and batting through but not for that many runs, 58*.

148 scored in the 20 overs. Yorkshire need to score almost 7.5 per over.

O'brien, Malik and Harris all injured :102: Such an inexperienced pace attack. We will do well to defend this total!!

Yorkshire 39 for 0 off the first five overs

75 for 2 after ten overs - it's going to be close.

Ex City Ashley Lyth's brother just at the crease now after a great piece of fielding by Taylor caught Rudolph out

112 for 3 after 15 overs - Yorkshire just ahead of the required run-rate.

Yorkshire starting to lose wickets - 5 gone now - and getting behind the run-rate.

... but 4s off each of the next two balls puts them in front again.

22 off last two overs needed. Wayne White conceded just two from the 18th over and took a wicket - superb

6 needed off last over, Allenby conceded 16 in the penultimate one :-(

Yorkshire take it with a ball to spare.

As you say - we've seen it all before. HD is an undisputably class act but there is that suspicion that he has a slightly undue concern for his impressive averages. Carrying his bat in T20 - one might have expected at least 80 in the circs.

Such a disappointing penultimate over. Allenby has bowled well in the death, but he has also had some bad ones that lost us games last year.

Taylor's bowling was a positive and you wonder whether we will need to play all 5 bowlers in future.

On the official site it says that this is to help Nixon out, since the pace of Twenty20 is so frentic it's difficult for a keeper to captain as well. Fair enough I suppose but makes you wonder whether it will turn into something more permanent.

Not entirely convincing explanation but full marks for diplomacy.

I'm still wondering what was the reasoning for Roberts being picked yesterday instead of a batter.
