How come Costa Rica simply allowed Wanchope to resign?

He should've been made to traverse the nation doing the Walk Of Shame and then been buried in an ant nest for three months first.

I can't believe how shit clubs are at over-reacting to bullshit. Especially our club. What've the board had to say about the Chelsea doctor? ****ing nothing. Wankers.

I'll not be content until we sign that Johnson chap from sunderland and instantly sack him as he's possibly a nonce.

Sorry Ike, but you are a bit off beam here. It is the Sun newspaper that is at fault. Someone stole a security tape and sold it to the aforementioned publication. They then published parts of the security recording to coincide with the highly emotional memorial to Japan's horrific war time experience of having nuclear bombs explode over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The timing of the newspapers 'scoop' was quite deliberate it was designed to cause maximum embarrassment to Leicester City Football Club and the King Power Company via Jamie Vardy. I have no doubt the Jamie Vardy genuinely regrets his behaviour, but in reality it should never have been made public. The Clubs response has been appropriate, and whilst comparisons have been drawn between this episode and the 'sex tape', the two situations are totally different. The one constant in both however is the 'King Power' brand I do wonder if this is the real target given Rupert Murdoch's world wide business interests which go well beyond the media, however he wouldn't hesitate to use this if he thought such reporting was in his financial interests.

I think you've got this a bit wrong. The Sun will trash any England footballer, as they have done many times in the past - it's nothing to do with LCFC or King Power. The timing is just beneficial - it's not like it happened last year and only now came to light. The Sun would have been given the story and bribed someone for the tape (probably initially for sight for verification - then once they got it, they'd publish it). The club's low-key response is probably right but neither you nor I know if Vardy regrets his actions or just regrets being caught.

We could go further. Check all our team's computers for images of child porn and then refuse to play any team that won't let us check their players' computers for child porn. Because they've played a game with a nonce before.

I'll wait until I read that in Private Eye before believing it.

There might be a public interest defence if Vardy was filmed engaged in activities that might threaten national security or be a part of some serious criminal conspiracy. What we have here is an incident that probably happens to many thousands of people in thousands of clubs up and down the land every Friday and Saturday night.

Move along please. Nothing to see here.

Exactly. There are incidents that are worth highlighting which reveal serious offensive behaviour by people in the public eye. There are countless other occasions when people become gobby on a night out and say things better left unsaid but not worth pursuing.

The Sun probably felt it had to ramp up this minor episode to be able to justify leading with it on its front page. So far the club has been reassuringly low key on the matter.

Leicester City Football Club has concluded its investigation into claims made against Jamie Vardy in the national media last weekend.
Having established a full account of the incident in question and taken into consideration Jamie’s prompt apology, the Club has issued the player with a substantial fine and prescribed a programme of diversity awareness training. Jamie has been reminded of his responsibilities to the Club, his profession and the Leicester community. The fine will be donated to local charities.

The Club will make no further comment on the matter, which it now deems to be closed.
