I agree with all of this, except the last part. We don't pay his wages. No more so than I pay your wages from buying products from your company, or pay a public servant's wages by paying taxes.

So if no fans paid for tickets or subscribed to SKY or BT Sports channels, where would the club get the £2.3 million to pay Vardy. We do not as fans have any say in how much the club pay him, but we most certainly directly or indirectly hand over the cash to them to do so.

You don't think any of the money comes from sponsors? Ticket revenue is pennies compared to TV and sponsorship revenue. Look at the SuperBowl. So many million dollars for a 30 second slot.

The same is true of every job, everywhere, to some extent.

Doesn't give me any more of a right to determine how someone chooses to act.

Unless their behaviour is illegal, in which case you do have a right.

But obviously this is **** all to do with wages or anything else.

But why do they pay that much?

Becuase so many fans will be watching at home.

Always comes back to the fans be it at the ground or at home.

So there are no fans, LCFC or otherwise that have SKY subscriptions that allow SKY to pay every PL club £70million+? and fans ticket sales and merchandising probably contributes another £15-20million, so around £90million in total. I suspect sponsorship will not approach anywhere near that figure.

Not me: won't have anything which pays into Mr Murdoch's pocket...

Of course there are, I didn't say there weren't.

Right, but the money isn't coming from the fans.

Some does directly through subscriptions, the rest will come from advertising.

The companies will pay silly money to advertise as they get exposure to millions of fans.

So yes, it does come from the fans and as a result of the fans.

Does any of this matter? Does me contributing £1.20 towards a players' wage give him any sort of responsibility to me?!

It's a completely separate argument to whether the players are role models or not, but I can't understand why people believe that players have an obligation to them because they may or may not have have contributed a few pounds to their pocket via several degrees of separation.

Given the fact that you have continued that debate it would indicate it does matter to you. ;)

I was just commenting on the fact that the money in football is there as a result of the fans directly and indirectly. You brought the whole responsibility nonsense back up. :102: (for the old skoolers around here)

Ha, I was just trying to close down a debate that became sidetracked about money, when I don't think it matters in the first place.

But let's not discuss it any more.

I'm just going to sit here and practice my booing for Saturday afternoon.

I am concerned that CCTV footage which is supposedly only for criminal activity to be passed to the police has been passed to the media.
In a casino the cameras are mainly used to deter potential fraud and to resolve disputes, i.e. a gambler stating he had placed a winning bet that he actually hadn't or claiming his winnings were not paid in full.

Yeah, but the point is that this will be stolen footage as the casino themselves won't have released it to the Sun.
