Not necessarily. As pointed out Mandaric was a shrew businessman (at times). It may be more than coincidence that City sign an Indian footballer when it is considered that Leicester, as a city, has a huge Indian population. Perhaps an attempt to bolster shirt sales/gate reciepts at home.

You're fired

Fair enough. It wasn't meant to be a grand theory just a throw away comment that was seized on and twisted in a nasty way to make me look like a lazy borderline racist which couldn't be further from the truth.
CF's post above has made this clearer. If that's what Milan was doing, I can understand the thinking behind it. I think certain types of fan like having local lads in the side too. It didn't really work though, like a lot of MM's ideas.
I'm ignoring Blue Maniac because for some reason which is beyond me he seems to be spoiling for a fight. :102:
It's easy to misunderstand my intended tone.

In the interest of ending the argument I shall go back in time to just after you posted this and simply reply with:

Cynic.

Thanks. I appreciate that.

If you consider that the Tv rights for English football are pretty much monopolised by one company (from India to Japan and certain parts of South-East Asia, it's not such a unfeasible suggestion. Add to that a pretty much free market with the Championship in Asia.

Exactly.

I don't know if Verma is of Indian or Pakistani heritage, but thought he was English anyway? If I was being a cynic, I would say his return was more than likely to do with attracting more fans of Asian heritage to the club.
