I'm not sure, sometimes things like that get said just to oik up the price a bit...

Speaking on which, on the first article, (if it were my decision) I'd be prepared to more than 1m for waggy...

I prefer Waggybumbum (TM Alex) to Waggymania.

Waggamamma

Lads, let's not dwell on his name too much otherwise it's only a matter of time before Biff will be along to remind us again that his name has a very, very slight resemblance to Foghorn Leghorn.
Let's face it, nobody wants that.

btw It's the second syllable in his name in case you missed it

Waghorn has to be Pearson's top transfer target this summer. I can see him and Fryatt as a quality stirkeforce for the future. The way our youngsters have improved under Pearson and his staff is fantastic. Morrison, Hobbs, King, Waghorn, and Fryatt have all improved so much this season. If we were to sign Waghorn the future would be looking very bright.

One last word on Waggy, if he carries his form through to the end of the season i don't think a call up for the U21's will be to far away(hopefully after he has signed to keep the price down a bit).

I say, I say, I say I like how his name sounds like Foghorn Leghorn

EDIT - Maybe that one suits better to the 'lovely ladies' thread :icon_lol:

Bruce can **** off, just let us have him he is never going to play at Sunderland, hopefully Bruce won't even be there next season anyway.

It is easy to forget that loan signings do not belong to us. We get a young loanee who finds his enjoys playing first team football at Leicester and who the fans enjoy watching and we get lulled into thinking his future is with us. Last season I was very impressed by Gilbert, Cleverley and Hobbs. Nigel may well have wanted to sign all three but only Hobbs actually came.
Davies was even more impressive and I remember the fans chanting "Sign him up" as though there was a chance of him prefering us to a Premier League side.

Waghorn's future lies in the hands of Steve Bruce who is no fool and will know how good Waghorn is. No doubt he would sell him if we offered silly money but we do not have a silly management team.
In 2007 when we did have a silly manager we did buy a striker from Steve Bruce for silly money. That striker was no where near as good as Waghorn and oh we could do with that money now.

One further point most of the posts assume that Sunderland is a more successful club than Leicester. This is certainly true at the moment. It may not necessarily be true in five or six years time when Waghorn is at his peak.

They stay up and he's ours for a million. They go down, he ain't unless we go up and offer more. That's all there is to it I reckon.
