They go down, we go up.......Lovely

Hypothetically, would you straight swap him for Fryatt?

Not by a long stretch.

Waghorn has to be Pearson's top transfer target this summer. I can see him and Fryatt as a quality stirkeforce for the future. The way our youngsters have improved under Pearson and his staff is fantastic. Morrison, Hobbs, King, Waghorn, and Fryatt have all improved so much this season. If we were to sign Waghorn the future would be looking very bright.

I agree, I've heard people say they don't want to go up because we'd get smashed every week.

Well, I don't see why myself. We have some really exciting young talents and bar the odd ultra-cheap blunder (Neilson), Pearson has proven himself in the transfer market as far as I'm concerned to build a squad that could sustain its Premier League place.

If they go down they'll be more likely keep him and shift a load of big earners. And the emotional pull of playing in the first team for Sunderland might keep him there, even if they go down and we go up.

If they stay up and keep/strengthen their attacking options, he'll have little chance of getting into their first team.

Hope for Sunderland to stay up. :icon_wink

Or he will want the move to us even more.

I'm sorry Kingy me old matey, you'll have to explain it, I don't geddit, but I'm a bit mashed at the minute. I bet Spider-Man likes Reggae Reggae sauce

Well you were saying that the only remote similarity between Waghorn and Foghorn is the horn.

So really we can give him any nickname we want. Considering hes quite bullish and strong im comparing him to The Rhino , who also has a horn :icon_cool.

Well, i have the horn at the moment, why not call him camberwell then?

Which bit of TalkingBalls excites you so?

All of it, but mainly the discussions surrounding tits, homeywomeypants and of course lovely ladies.

The old smattering of fantasy fox too come to think of it...oh, here we go again...:icon_wink

Horrible decision Consty.

Fryatt has shown himself to be a reliable goalscorer and has improved dramatically over the last two years. Admittedly, there's an argument that Foghorn Leghorn has more potential to be a success in the Premier League, but on current evidence it's a tough argument to make.

I'm not knocking Waggy at all - I think he's done great for us and may go on to be a very decent player. But Fryatt is far more valuable (both to us and in the market) at this point in time... well, not this point in time cos he's knackered his jaw, but you know what I mean.

Ah right, cryptic, I like it.

That reminds me actually, Ryan O'Berner is Bruno's Irish cousin.
I don't know if Waggy has any Irish relations

We've got other areas that we could spend that kind of money on first. Right back especially. A centre back too if Tunchev goes without another pre-season.

When Waggy goes we'll still Have Fryatt, Kermit, Gallagher, Howard, N'Guessan.... and DJ. The first three of which are all easily good enough (as strikers) for this division.

I don't see why people expect us to sign him if Sunderland go down. Waggy has proved that he is capable in this division so Bruce may see him as a viable replacement for the potential loss of another striker(s). ie he'd lose bent for £Xmillion but has Waggy in reserve for nowt.
