A top 10 finish would make me happy (ish)...

I think you should prepare yourself for disappointment.

:icon_lol: An understatement. 5th best budget and we look like we can manage relegation form.

Let's look at CL's job another way.

We went broke a little while back and nearly went out of existence. [If you don't believe that, stop reading now because you clearly don't have a clue what is going on] Although the club managed to keep going, we were still spending too much and we were heading very quickly back to being broke again.

What is one of the main costs at a football club? Players' wages.

How many players did we have when CL arrived? Too many.

How many players did we have on too-big wages when CL arrived? Too many.

When CL arrived, he was clearly charged with getting down the wage-bill. He has reduced the size of the squad - he has done particularly well at getting rid of those on the higher salaries. In short he has done his bit towards ensuring the financial future of our club - and at the same time he has maintained our position.

True, many of us would like to see us higher in the league - but that was never likely, was it? If we had had to economise further, we might have even had to drop down a division to survive. Would we have been prepared to do that if the alternative had been the end of the club?

CL is doing the job that he was asked to do. Let's support him!

The books are balanced as of this year. Yes we made losses and yes we still have debts, but there are plans in place to pay those. However, this years losses against the pevious years profits sort of cancel each other out. Levein has done well in getting the wage bill down, but lets be honest...the high earners were on their way out at the end of the year regardless of whether Levein was in charge or not.

From talking with officials at the club the plan has and still is to balance the books regardless of what scenario/league this club is in.

They will be balanced in order to pay player wages and debts and Leicester will go on...administration is not even a consideration at this stage. We are doing okay!

Whether you want to admit it or not, we currently have around the fith best budget in this league. We can look for excuses as to why this isn't enough to mount a credible challenge but they simply don't ring true.

We ARE underachieving...no more spin please boc ;)

Spot on for me Boc. I said in an earlier post that it seems that the administration thing had been forgotten. There was also plenty of people on here who stated that this season didn't matter that much regarding promotion, and that also seems to have gone out of the window.

We are 4-6 poor results away from firefighting. For me it's too late then, I am not saying its then irreversable but it might be. Sunday is the day for me, biggest game in Craig Leveins career by a country mile!

A bit like O'Neill against Sheffield United, hopefully it will kickstart the same but I cant see it.
