No, we shouldn't. If we should have then we'd have broken a contract which has probably brought us millions in sponsorship money.

'We' are not the club, 'we' have not taken the money, 'we' woudn't be breaking any contract.

The club can call it what they like, but I don't see why us fans should go along with them. Freeman's Wharf has got a proud history, and should be something we Leicester fans should want to talk about. The club won't do it for us, they want to take the money, and that's fine, but we shouldn't let them sell our name for the our home. The best example is the Southampton fans who have prevented St. Mary's becoming the Freinds Provident Stadium, just by insisting on not calling it that.

I would expect in the future that the club (and fans) will miss out. Any potential investor is unlikely to want to stump up loads of money to sponsor a stadium if the name never gets used. I couldn't care less what the stadium is called as long I can see City play.

Precisely.

I just want to know if SuperScout had sent a list of potential names to the Club and if 'King Power Stadium' is on the list.....

Seriously, who gives a ****? As others have said you can call it something else if you want.

I'm not so sure about anyone else, but I know in my case my gripe lies thus. I defintely do refer to the ground as Filbo, to my friends, family and society in general. However, when the ground is mentioned on the TV or Radio it is referred to as it's sponsored name (as it ought to be, sponsors are paying for it). And in the days of Sky Television and our eventual participation in the Premier League this is not just a national concern. All this means is, in turn, people who haven't had the pleasure of conversing with a City fan on the subject are led to believe that THIS is what the ground is named (whilst technically it is, I feel there is a very strong argument against it concerning the mentality of Leicester fans).

It just feels like we are losing a little bit of heritage, one season at a time.

A good example of what a sponsored ground should be name is Southampton's. The Friends and Providence St Mary's leaves people in no two minds about A) the sponsor of the ground and B) the heritage/culture/tradition of the club..

Yes, but this is unlikely to happen again as both Boro and Southampton named their stadium by sponsor plus a seperate name. Sponsors lose out as you would rarely hear those grounds being referred to as the Cellnet or Friends Provident by the media, it was always Riverside or St Mary's.

Goodness how original.

Its the Walkers... im joining that group!

Brilliant, so we have one fan saying we need to keep our heritage and call it Filbo even though it is no longer on Filbert Street and another saying he will keep the heritage by calling it the Walkers.

Quite why anybody gives a toss is beyond me

We lost any pretence of identity when they bulldozed Filbert Street - anything they call it after that is utterly irrelevant

Activism for the terminally inactive. It's the very worst kind of self-affirmation and apathy there is in this rotten age. 'Yeah, I care, I joined a Facebook group....what did YOU do about *insert cause*'. It's just a shame Martin Luther King didn't have access to Facebook. Imagine the amount of people that would've 'liked' basic human equality...the million man click.

Brilliant, I need to find a way to use this phrase in conversation! :p
