He's been that player for his entire career.He struggled big time with any pace and was caught far too often on the halfway line with or without the ball. Vestergaard did a job in the championship, I am concerned he will be slaughtered in the Premiership.
A modern back four (or 5 or 3) has to be balanced between attacking & defending. That means you need pace along with effective ball control & passing ability. Vestergaard is the pivot that provides the latter, it's up to managers, coaches & recruiters to provide the former to balance it out. Hopefully they can do that. If not, we're ****ed but it won't be Vestergaard's fault.
