Seems like a day for very bad injuries.
I went Burton v Weymouth 1-1, entertaining game but devoid of quality. A Weymouth striker was full-blooded kicked in the face after stooping down for a header, the striker didnt move, he landed badly. I hope the poor fellows alright. I come back to hear of Bullard's orrible injury and a Hinckley player collapsing. I hope all three re-cover fully from the injuries.
Now to the silly business.
I have said Keaton is a two-bob defender who if he was any good would be in the current Soton side with an experience Burley in charge. Same old self-destruct City in process.
I have said to many people that our lack of goals is not down to the lack of quality up front. Fryatt and co will score when provided with the chances. Its the lack of midfield spark, I thought today Johnson would be chasing shadows and Hughes is too lightweight for this division. Low although a good crosser, is a bit naive in his positioning and Porter struggles with his height.
Well what to sort out the probelm? Drop Keaton and put Maybury back in his actual position. Keep Low and Porter, they provide width. Midfield for me would be Weso and Williams. I'd like to see a loanee come in here, could of gone for Koumas at the correct time. The probelmtic left-back spot was never dealt with and this position remains an issue. Strikers I have no probelms with but I would play Hume against Hull for the pure reason, hes a livewire and the Hull defence (two-bob as it is) would much prefer height against them than speed. Luckily enough their most dangerous player got sent-off today, Parkin.
