BBC website's report on the game..

Leicester 1-1 West Brom
West Brom climbed to the top of the Championship despite being held to a draw against resurgent Leicester who were unfortunate not to seal victory.

Diomansy Kamara opened the scoring from the spot on 26 minutes after he had been brought down by Alan Maybury.

But Leicester drew level before half-time as Gareth McAuley headed in Patrick Kisnorbo's free-kick.

The Foxes had the better of the second half and had a decent penalty shout when Paul Robinson impeded Maybury.

Commentators on RL said that the foul on Maybury was outside the area anyway though.

RK said that he was a bit disappointed with the result as he felt we could've taken all 3 points based on the second half.

It's funny how everyone is suddenly all over AJ as the focal point of our team and how next year he's going to be vital and the midfield should be built around him almost, when a few games ago everyone hated him and wanted shot as soon as possible.

Even in the dark days, I thought he had more to offer and was just coming good when he was injured.

I think there's a few things. Now he looks pretty fit - more so than before his injury. He also plays in a deeper position most of the time where he is at his destructive best. And, in the absence of McCarthy, he orders the team around on the field - which in part means putting himself where he is most comfortable.

First Half - We gave them way too much respect, we werent closed them down enough. Johnson and Jarrett however done their job in princple making Greening and Chaplow work for it. They took lead, Maybury being lazy, caught short, defo peno. Horsfield's 'elbow' was part and parcel of football, Geoff was using his body and his elbow just brushed McShane. It often happens. It wasnt meant. Maculay scored a goal out of nothing.

Second Half - Much Better. Even Maybury was better, two centre halfs looked more comfortable and we began to play football. Johnson was like a trooper in the middle. Hume did nothing really but lacked service to the feet. Hughes is shit, and should of scored twice (albeit one chance was ruled offside). Rennie is nob, should give your referee duties for both sides he ruined the game, he almost gave a peno for a shot from Jarrett brushing Davies side for handball.

Good atmosphere to boot in THE KOP. Henderson very good. West Brom overplayed their football, we started like an away side and ended like an away side. But for the majority we were the better side.

Anyone do me a favour and tape The Championship?

That's a load of bollocks. I sit right behind where it happened and it was most definitely in the box. RL getting it wrong yet again, surprise surprise.

I agree he does a lot for team morale. You noticed it in the 'many pauses' thanks to ol'Uriah. Maybury's foul was outside the box. Today, I was impressed simply because the players gave all their effort and I can appreciate that, they tried.

Bloody good game that. Very enjoyable viewing.

Handed them a lead (Maybury - you arse) and then looked like we could get battered but we fought back and deserved at least a point at the end.

Johnson, Kisnorbo, Henderson, Hughes & Horsefield all played well in my view.

WBA will finish in top two I reckon.

I often read your posts, tut and leave them be, but I cannot let you say this and go unchallenged, the man is a disgrace, backs out of every challenge, passes to nobody, can't win a header and generally does feck all.

I sit bang behind the goal and thought it was about 2 foot outside :icon_eek:

I was obviously at a different game then. :icon_redf :icon_lol:

But the skidmarks (no reference to Maybury's grunts) from his tackle were well inside the area. Or so I thought. :icon_conf :102:

There were a couple of stand-out things in the second-half. One, giving MacAuley a hug after a clearance. And the other, right in the dying minutes, after disposessing a WB forward in the box with an unruly challenge, while clambering up from face-down in the grass, giving Hendo a big sh*t-eating grin and making a sly wanker sign.

Fickle boneheads ;)

What's the reason for his recent found form though? Is it just because of the Horse? Is he playing for a new contract now MM is here?

It sounds like he's been key to our recent run though, so hopefully he can keep it going whatever the reason for it is, and will help us drive forward at least for the rest of this season if not next.
I've always maintained the AJ was better than his performances were showing. I got stick for it, and I'm glad I stood by it.

Before his return I made a post saying that he is better than Williams and I fully expected to see a return to form upon his return and be better for the team than Wiliams ever was. I think the horse as helped, but most of it's down to AJ himself. Before his injury he was doing the right things, he just wasn't getting the breaks.

I'm certainly no fan of Hughes generally. I think I made a fairly abusive post about him recently. Today, he played well. The midfield needed an extra body in the centre on many occasions and he did a good job between the right hand side and the centre. His passing, positioning and support play was good. He got into decent scoring positions (2 headers and a shot from the edge of the area) and didn't quite deliver. He also got a well above average reception when he was subsitituted so I wasn't alone in thinking this.

If you'd like to ignore my posts from now on, I'd be happy to oblige and ignore yours?

I was quite taken aback with the noise the Ultras made today.......

thought we did really well today, matched WBA generally and could have sneaked a win, to restrict them to only a few chances and a penalty with quality players like Kamara, Phillips, Koumas, Chaplow, Greening etc was a great effort.
