The bid from mm will be turned down.

Shareholders will increase investment under presure from fans.but it wont be enough to keep top players, and down we stay.

OR

Bid accepted, but shareholders only sell at six million ,so mm after buying ground only invest 6 million on players ,we stay down

OR

Wilson the builder ,Ross, of Car phone warehouse ,and George, Wheatabix have a beer and chuck in 25 mill each as the realise they cant take it with them, and leave a legacy for the City of Leicester.

Welcome Dave. However this thread is the last thing we need.

Another thread:icon_lol:

I thought the 25,000,000 threads we had representing a pound each of Milan's supposed bid were enough.

this has got to stop. Can we just have a sticky and delete the rest?!?!

I confidently predict that:

Something will happen. Some time

This is the critical question for me, if MM's bid is accepted (as semms likely) and B happens, where will that leave us.

Don't expect any £6m investment in the 1st/2nd season though, his investment in players will be spread over more seasons IMO.

Agreed,

The original 'only 6 million on players' indicates there will be some very disapointed people.

1/2 of that maximum is my guess, suss the squad and then buy in the summer.

Whatever is spent is a loan, not a gift

worse case scenario: MM is a scheming b&sr&rd aiming to bleed us dry and doesn't care if we aren't promoted and he wants to sell the ground to WalMart or something...

1) we have the facilities to stay in the prem and be a much bigger business in top flight
2) any owner of the ground would make more money with it as a functioning stadium than flogging it off. if he bought it, it just shifts our debt from Teachers to him
3) if he bought the club on the cheap (say £3m) from the shareholders and bankrupted the company, he'd be £3m out of pocket, so he's not very likely to do that

all the shareholders are doing is getting him to say "yes, i want your shares and i promise to invest in the squad in order to the tune of X amount over Y seasons"

worse case scenario is in fact, he buys the club and makes some changes to make it a viable business, then sells his shares after not investnig much...

The site of the ground was initially going to be used to build a Morrisons supermarket, but the City Council decided to block it. So that will scupper his evil scheming.

with a £27 million carrot for being in the premier league next season and £9 million for the parachute payments compared to around £1 million for topping the championship, i hope that is enough incentive to invest ASAP

I don't understand the above comments at all. I note they are said with some conviction, so I don't doubt the sincerity behind them.

But why won't MM invest in the plaing squad immediately?, I'd be surprised if we don't have 5 new players (loan or signed) by the end of January.

Surely he has to invest immediately, I don't understand why people think he won't be investing properly for 2 years

That is precisely what i meant, sorry if it did not come across that way. i feel that the incentive is there to invest right away not to waite or spread the cost over a number of years.
