Hehe. I agree but I think his lack of match fitness may well play a part. He's adequate for us atm.

I already do. He does the things that have been very lacking in our side for sometime and he covers a lot ground. He gets stuck in, his awareness is pretty good and his positional sense is also pretty good. Ok, he might not be the best technically but so what?

It wasn't a compliment either, Hughes is a waste of space!

Williams was a very good passer and had good first touch but was a lazy tosser and was no use to our side!

I think Johnson was badly unfit at the start of the season.
He always tried, he was just useless.
Now he looks transformed and is exactly the player Rob Kelly signed him to be.
I'm glad because he is clearly good for team spirit and banter.

He does have poor control at times. Feck knows how he missed on Saturday...

But silky skills isn't what he's there for. Kelly's plan is surely for him and Johnson to kill the game in the centre of the park - and Jarrett is a proper niggly player for that, tackling, tripping and barging - as well as charging forward when the ball is out wide. Plus, he goes in first, then there's Johnson behind, before you even get to the defense - which makes it really difficult for anyone to play through the middle. Ipswich were truly stiffed, West Brom stifled too, in the second half.

It is amazing what the effect of selling Williams and the redistribution of his cash has done to us.

I think Jarrett is doing well. he is the first midfielder we have had for a while that can take the ball ahead of our forwards and cause problems for their defence, or race ahead into a space that Hume left when he wandered off out to the wing.

He's a damn sight better than Hughes and puts in a lot of work unlike Williams did. I think he has been a major factor on our improved performances as well as AJ actually starting to play well.

I think you have spotted the reason. Jarret plays and doesn't stand around like that show pony Williams. AJ improved because he's got a partner in midfield now, he may not be as talented as GW but he's certainly more of a worker and gets into both boxes rather than just the centre circle like GW.

I've seen enough of him in his past at WBA etc to make my judgement,however its just my opinion and I may well be wrong.Like Homer said he is nearing the end of his contract and MM has money,suddenly he starts to play a bit..:icon_conf Coincidence ?
