Where do we go from here? How to improve for Premier League 2015/2016.

We need a new left back and a new right back to give us the option of going back to 4 at the back.
We need another central defender (on top of Wasilewski and Huth staying) - could do with 5 to give us cover for when we play 3 central defenders.
We need two central midfielders (one as cover for Matty James)
We could do with another winger and another striker (but not as much of a priority)

The fact we have been a far better side with a back three, why would we need the ability to revert to 4-4-2? Cambiasso was the main reason for our survival, tbh NP has rarely bought a bad player, we need massive strength in depth in our midfield, and pace in our defence! Huth was great, but can he go a whole season? I am confident that NP realises where we need to improve, I can help but think we under estimated sides this year

I'd argue that for many months we under estimated ourselves and were afraid to take risks.

We have already improved. With Burnley and Hull dropping out and only newly promoted Bournemouth being above us alphabetically - we start the 2015/16 season off a place higher than last year. As we started last year in 7th and ended up 14th this year -the statistical projection will see us start in 6th and end in 12th.

Richie de Laet being the most obvious example. It's only in the last few matches that he's looked confident (and only those when he's actually played, obviously). But when he's been on the pitch recently, he's been excellent - sure in what he's doing. The first few matches of the season, even though we did alright, he looked desperately uncertain - neither willing to risk going forward on one of his runs nor clear as to where he should be when defending. Recently, when we've brought him on and switched to 4-4-2, he's been quick and certain as to where he has to be when defending.

You've convinced me.

What a gutter for Bournemouth. Bet they thought by putting AFC at the beginning they'd be top, unlucky lads. Probably still first in the yellow pages mind.

So changing our name to Fosse all those years ago would have made sod all difference. Maybe time to change to Blue Army. Guaranteed Europe.

But would it?

According to that table Crystal Palace come 12th, below Norwich rather than 5th, above Everton.

The FIFA corruption investigation needs to be widened

My View on the current squad:
GKs
Schmeichel - Must keep hold of
Hamer - Keep but easily replaced
Logan - Surplus to requirements
Schwarzer - good experience to have around if he's happy not playing
Smith - Not going to get a game so let him go.

Defence
De Laet - okay as cover for RB or RWB
Konchesky - Surplus to Requirements
Morgan - Okay as cover
Upson - Surplus to requirements
Huth - Sign him up
Simpson - Bye
Moore - Loan to championship if possible
Bakayogo - Bye
Wasilewski - Keep

Midfield
Schlupp - Important that we keep him IMO
Drinkwater - cover but easily replaced
Hammond - cover but easily replaced
James - Keep
King - Keep
Albrighton - Must keep
Cambiasso - Keep at all costs
Knockaert - thanks but Bye
Mahrez - Must Keep

Forwards
Vardy - Must Keep
Ulloa - Keep
Nugent - Reasonable cover
Kramaric - Keep

Important signings
2 center backs
Left Back (2 if we plan to play 4 at the back)
Right Back
At least 1 quality CM + replacement for cambiasso if he leaves
Left Winger

Also would like to see a coaching addition for free kicks and corners.

Best to leave all this stuff to Nigel.

FIFA will eventually see the error of their ways, repent and will belatedly come up with the fact that, following scientific shorthand nomenclature, they should be called Xtal Palace and be relegated thus sparing Watford: or alternatively, Palace will be promoted to La Liga and Selhurst Park will be awarded the 2024 World Cup Final, you never can tell with that lot.
