Re: Walshy for manager

A manger with no experience is the only type of manager that will survive under MM with his crazy control on things! Or maybe MM sound just be the manager!

Re: Who should we go for when Megson jumps ship?

But there is loads of cr@p out there looking for gainful employment and Jewell can't be an option or he'd have gone to Bolton imo.

I don't think Jewell will come here.

Bolton didn't seem to be interested in him anyway, their chairman seems to have narrowed it down to GM, Sounness and Coleman.

Re: Walshy for manager

Taggart is the much more realistic option, and i believe with MM's line of thinking, a viable one.

We have continuously hired managers who don't give two shits or don't have the ability, but mainly both.

Maybe putting someone like Gerry in there is whats needed, i dont see how it could be any worse than we have witnessed over the last 5 years.

Who knows, maybe Gerry is a major reason behind our sterling defensive performances, he was always saying he needed a chance to work with the defence.

To be honest i suppose im just sick to the back teeth of supposed qualified managers who in truth have achieved **** all coming in and deepening everyones sense of boredom, anger and even resentment.

Regarding managers he has made some good decisions imo.

He was brave and correct imo to remove Rob Kelly at that stage of the season.
He was right to appoint Nigel Worthington in a time of crisis.
He was right imo to see that NW was not the longer term answer.
His appointment of Martin Allen is debatable but for me was a reasonable choice.
His decision to sack MA is still a mystery.
His appointment of Gary Megson was shocking.

Re: Walshy for manager

Do you think MM has changed his mind again then?

When he appointed GM he said we needed an experienced manager.

But he just says things to justify the situation. It's pure Mandaric

He may well go for Taggs (with an old lag to support him) and come out with some cobblers about needing passion/love for the club etc. etc.

Re: Who should we go for when Megson jumps ship?

Ok then so from what you have just said, he has made three good decisions and three bad ones. I don't believe that an experienced manager will put up with him! Look at his pomey days and MA.

I dont think he will want someone likely to turn round and kick him in the teeth if he does a good job, plus which experienced managers that are viable don't currently have a club? Im sure he'd rather have someone who is commited and unlikely to want to leave, he badly wants stability.

He would at least have full backing of the crowd at games, and i believe we would be far more lenient in terms of early expectency if we had someone in charge who we knew gave two tosses about the state of the club.

Get him back to finish of what he started

My theory is that we just need to play wycombe again and reverse this ****ing horrible curse.

Yes, you're right Homer - but it'd work for me!

Re: Walshy for manager

When I saw that Gerry would be first team coach when Ginger nob was appointed I envisaged that he would one day lead our great club to glory.

my initial reaction was 'good, at least one of the coaching staff aren't utter ***** then' then i went back to ranting about gingers

Re: Who should we go for when Megson jumps ship?

Anyone who seriously thinks Jewell, Keegan, etc etc would come here must be nuts!! I dont think anyone apart from the usual tripe like Reid, Gregory would like a nice little earner. Keegan only said a few weeks ago that he would never manage again, so forget it!!

MM needs to please the fans this time and i think his best bet is, Little DOF, Walsh manager with Taggart assistant.

If MM cant make this happen he should fetch someone from abroad.

not quite so soon though.

TBH i would actually accept his appointment.

Yeah, I think i had similar reactions to the announcement at the time as well come to think of it.

When do we get our cheque for £300,000..?? :icon_razz:

With a little more tweaking, that sounds like a plan, BA.

I certainly believe you make an extremely valid point also re the 'need to please'. I'm sure/hopefully MM will be thinking along these lines.......
