Nobody want Grayson? He would be perfect
1.knows the club
2. Wants the job
3. Teams play good football
4.Recent knowledge of div1
5. Unsettled at current club
6.Would bring his No2 Steve Thompson (plus probably Taggart and/or Walsh)
6. Majority of fans would welcome

Unless I've missed something, where has this come from?

And please don't say 'he played for the club so he MUST want the job'

Seriously, why has no-one mentioned Paul Ince so far? He's done the business at MK Dons and surely wants to move up the managerial ladder as soon as possible.

Milan could get him reasonably cheap and he'd be coming to an ambitious club with an ambitious chairman and - I assume - a reasonable amount of money to spend for a league 1 club. Then he's got the fan base and the infrastructure as a bonus as well.

My plan would be:

Throw money at Ince, then Darren Ferguson, then Big Sam.

When they've all laughed it off, look at Newell or Davies.

Are you suggesting that MK Dons and Pete Winkleman are any less ambitious than we are?

No, but I would suggest that we're in a much better position to get promoted this season than they are.

EDIT: And as I said, Ince strikes me as the kind of manager who wants to progress in his career ASAP - which he could do with Leicester. My only fear is that championship clubs could be after him as well.

Really? They have a settled team and a settled Manager and a settled board and an enthusiastic and growing fanbase.

Remind me what we have at the moment?

You and Redditch are off your heads. Milan could and should have got Ince this time last year but there is no way he would come here now. MK Dons are in the same league as us, have a new stadium like us, have great support like us, and have better players and spirit than us.

He may just have a chance with Darren Ferguson at Posh as they are not as big as LCFC but if you think we are more attractive or a bigger fish than MK Dons these days you need to smell the coffee...

We've already proved that we have got a fantastic fanbase even when we play rubbish football week in week out. If we start to win games, we will be able to attract crowds of around 20000 every week. I agree that our team is not settled, but if we manage to keep hold of our better players, our team can settle next season. Mandaric, for his faults, is eager to get back to the Champ and will certainly have enough money to pay for quality league 1 standard players. Our infrastructure rivals most championship clubs.

Don't get me wrong - there are a lot of negatives, but for a manager who wants to make his name in football, I reckon we are an attractive club.

Plus, stability and a settled manager isn't everything - it certainly didn't do much for us last season...

We've fallen a long ****ing way, but how the hell can you say we're not a bigger club than MK Dons? What the **** qualifies them as bigger than us? Their biggest achievments are being promoted from League 2 and winning the JPT FFS!

That would tend to rule out Ince then as he is already on the rising staircase.

I guess we are headed for a 'no-name' with potential then. Might work, but probably not what most of us want but realistically all we can expect.

My plan would be to offer the job to Dennis Waterman. I would put Jenny Eclair as assistant manager, Billy Dee Williams as Youth Team Coach and Leslie Grantham in charge of Website Relations.

I am dreaming of Big Sam being here, but I suppose he will wait for a Prem Club to sack someone.

Not necessarily - a lot of championship clubs might not be willing to take a risk on him - we weren't prepared to take him on last season.

We might not be able to attract him to the club, but I hope Milan does his best - he'd certainly be one of my favourites for the job.

I wouldn't mind any of the ones I suggested exactly a year ago (amazing coincidence :icon_wink ) http://www.talkingballs.co.uk/showpost.php?p=462585&postcount=306

I imagine most of them would tell us to go away now, but they were all realistic candidates a year ago and have exceeded expectations since then. Milan would probably have turned them into failures here though.
