I've always wondered why goalkeepers need to raise their knees to 'get the height' when the same doesn't seem to apply to outfield players. There was no need for Henderson's leg to be up there - he was careless, he was reckless. The suggestion that he didn't jump at an opponent is nonsense. There is no such thing as a 'legal follow-through' as so many players and fans seem to think there is. The referee got it exactly right.
A lot of people raise their knee when jumping, especially when making a running jump. I also think it is significant that the other player wasn't jumping for the ball. It sounded to me as if he was trying to take Henderson out while he was in the air.
