I take it you weren't at Ipswich. 40C it most certainly was not.

I was refering to the summer temperatures in Qatar. Although if our winters are going to be like this one in the future Ipswich also showed a very good reason to build a winter break in to the schedule.

How long would you have the break for?

If you want to avoid conditions like at Ipswich you'd have to have a three month break to cover the time when it could happen.

Most people advocating a winter break suggest it should just be during January, so we could still have bad weather in December and February.

So you're saying we should switch to a summer schedule? :icon_bigg

No. I'm saying we should keep things as they are.

It's unusual to have more than a couple of matches a season affected by the weather, which is easy to cope with over the course of the season.
Most of the postponements seem to be called off due to safety reasons, which is pathetic really. People still get to work in the snow, they still go to the shops in the snow, but they can't go to football matches :102:

The heat is another addition to the long, long list of reasons the World Cup shouldn't ever be held in Qatar.

The only reason Qatar got the World Cup is so that there was another answer to a 'Q' question in the long awaited return of Blockbusters.

Bob Holness my sugar ranker.
