Even if we are paying 50k a week of his wages and paid a 250k loan agreement fee we've still only used the fryatt money to secure a player who has scored heaps of premier league goals and plenty of championship goals. A much better use of 1.25m than having fryatt sat on the bench or missing chances.
Now let's jusþ hope he stays fit enough to do the business.
Yes, but if we're paying all of his wages and a £9m loan fee, is it such good business then?

Not likely though. I would expect to be able to buy him for less.

The report in the Independent says he's on £40,000 a week.

I've read 3 different reports. One saying £40k p/w, one saying £50k and another £80k.

Even at a mid point of 60k and a 250k loan payment (which qpr said was excessively high as a loan fee for naughton) we've still effectively swapped fryatt for yakubu for the rest of the season.
Given fryatt's championship record being so poor, that constitutes very, very strong business with no financial commitment beyond the end of the season.

Agreed - if he helps City go up, it's more shrewd that Homer's lady-boy outfit.

He's overweight, extremely unfit, has a dodgy leg and ain't gonna last ninety minutes from now until the rest of the season

He is, however, a better option than Howard and Waghorn, and that can only be a good thing

I always felt he was a bit over-rated but I felt the same about Vassell originally and he has come good to the point where he's easily our best striker at the minute.

I wasn't too sure about Vassell but he's really come good. Yakubu I think will take a little while to settle in, maybe two or three games, but then I think he'll be well away. After all he's playing for his future- impress Moyes and he's back in the squad. Impress Sven and he'll get a move.

And there was me thinking I could no longer follow my boyhood dream of turning out for City and the land of my Fathers.

I'm sending Sven a CV and a Youtube clip right away.

If you scrub up Nazi sexy Sven will be impressed and you're probably in. PM with YouTube clip please :icon_lol:

Great peace of business if it is confirmed. I think Yak needs to slim down and get much fitter. He will score a lot at this level if Sven gets his confidence back.

Sky Sports News have just shown pictures of Yakubu arriving at Leicester as the Everton striker looks to tie up a loan move to the Walkers Stadium.
