what about giving the manager a rocket, and telling him to get the best out his team. From what I have seen, Pearson couldn't motivate Peter Sutcliffe in a Swansea brothel.

Lets not chuck any more money at the squad, get the players we have motivated like fcuk, do you think Pearson is capable of that?

Why is it strange? Do you not realise the managers job is to motivate, or did you just think he was there to stand on the touchline and wave his fcuking shoes in the air?

MON got us to places with a very average bunch of players who always punched above their weight.

yes: lennon, heskey, izzet, guppy, cottee, claridge, savage and keller didn't go on to forge premier league, european and international careers elsewhere did they? They only ever performed because O'Neill asked them nicely to do so.
It's not at all down to their fundamental quality.
A quality that is lacking in both the midfield and striking departments in the present squad.
Of course you need motivation, but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, no matter how much you tell the pig that it's got softer skin than the other pigs.
