'add ons' are conditional fees, based on milestones that the player may pass in the future; they do not relate to the value of any other player who may be involved in the deal. If Maynard were to be signed and if Waghorn were to go the other way as part of the deal, 'add ons' may be included in relation to each players' future achievements.

Heard a rumour at work that the club were printing Maynard shirts yesterday...
 
Maynard was spotted on Queens Rd yesterday.

Because the demand for brand new shirts would be that great wouldn't it - thousands upon thousands of people across Leicestershire have been waiting to get their new shirt for the season, but have put it off for an extra couple of weeks just in case he signed. Now they will be marching down to the club shop en masse, so better start printing them early to meet the overwhelming demand.

Makes perfect sense to me - I'm sure that this rumour is absolutely spot on
 
Offical photo still not been released ? Suppose they didn't want to spend several million and not have him included.

I didn't comment on how accurate i believe the rumours to be.

But they would need at least one for him to hold in his photo.
 
Todays mercury:

Determined Leicester City are expected to make a fourth bid for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard to try to land their man before the weekend.

The offer could be as much as £6million, including add-ons, which will be another test of Bristol City's resolve to hold on to the 24-year-old.

Maynard, who scored twice against City in a Championship victory for Bristol last week, has been a major target for Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson throughout the summer, but three formal bids have been knocked back.

The Mercury understands that City's head of football operations, Andrew Neville, had informal talks with his Bristol opposite number at the start of the week to pave the way for a formal offer.

Neville said at the start of the week that City hoped to have a striker in place by Saturday.

Speculation increased that Maynard could be joining City imminently when it emerged that he would miss Bristol's Carling Cup tie with Swindon last night.

However, Maynard was ruled out of the first-round tie as a precautionary measure after aggravating a knock on a knee against Portsmouth on Saturday. He first picked up the injury against Leicester.

There have also been suggestions that City's want-away striker Martyn Waghorn could move to Ashton Gate as part of the deal.

But it is believed the Robins would shy away from taking the former Sunderland man as they would prefer to add defensive cover.

All the indicators point to City's East Midlands rivals, Derby County, renewing their interest in the 22-year-old Waghorn, who has asked City if he can find another club.

Rams manager Nigel Clough is a known admirer of Waghorn and tried to take him on loan at the start of the year, and made a further enquiry in the summer.

Eriksson confirmed on Tuesday that Waghorn can look for another club with his blessing, but Derby will have to reduce their wage bill to match City's valuation, believed to be around £1.5m.

City paid Premier League club Sunderland £2m for Waghorn last summer.

Clough is keen to offload the trio of Stephen Bywater, Stephen Pearson and Dean Leacock, who are in the final year of their contracts at Pride Park.

Their departures could pave the way for the Rams boss to bid for Waghorn, who was yesterday named in the England Under-21 squad for next month's double-header against Azerbaijan and Israel.

Waghorn has also been linked with a move to Championship rivals Southampton, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options and build on their flying start to the campaign which has seen them top the table. The two teams meet at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
