The whole reason for this rule is that inadvertently or not it already is. It is not designed to catch out racists. It is designed to stop owners/chairman from only choosing white candidates for interviews.

I didn't say it was to catch out racists? But I'll never be in favour of combating suspected racism with racism, even if benefit of doubt that "chairman don't realise they are racist" is given.

In which case everything will stay just as it is. Which will please some people. And alienate even further others.

It's a necessary rule to address a definite problem.

Hopefully it will only be required as an interim measure.

The game needs to move forward in respect of players moving into management I agree, but I can't agree with this being the answer. I think football and society will move on but not as fast as people hope...it's already far enough behind, whatever the reason.
