I am not suggesting that this is acceptable but that it may happen. A change like this may be the making of him if he feels like he is the natural successor to Mahrez. If it is, I couldn't give two tosses about his previous attitude.

He has bags of talent, it's absolutely plain to see but his application stinks sometimes. I think he craves attention and adoration but he hasn't had it because he's been in the shadow of other players (quite rightly by the way).

Mahrez departing may well be the catalyst for him to step up and fulfil his obvious potential. Like I say, if he can do this, I wouldn't give a shite about his past attitude.

Barnes certainly has potential, but he delivered a number of stray passes against Peterborough, so does not have great game skills yet, and I am sure Everton would launch better attacks from those misplaced passes than Peterborough could.
