I need to buy a scanner, will any scanner work with any computer? I have a HP computer and was on the verge of buying a non HP scanner but thought I'd better find out first.

Anybody know of any decent sets that you can record VHS on to DVD? I have just found a load of old VHS tapes that I would like to transfer to dvd.
