Hats off to Adams, he realises alot of players he has signed have under-performed and instead of turning a blind eye he has cleared them out and gone with the attitude that 'new players, new ideas' If he hadn't cleared alot of these players out, we would all be moaning. Adams is bellowing out a loud message, we need to re-build and he will do it his way. I am backing him aswell. Some of his signings were crap last year, they have all gone now what's the problem? No looking back, it's in the past. Let's prepare ourselves for the future and see what happens. There will be some sneaky signings IMO

I'm happy with that list, would of liked to see Freund stay but its not to be.Wouldn't be surprised if MA is waiting until the play-offs are over before he makes any moves to bring players in,and no Ashov I don't mean Kevin Kyle!

All that -we have to get to a position where the squad is stronger -year on year - not cluttered up with one season misfits, has beens & those who don't really want to play for the club. With our support base & ground & history we are worth more than that - & I'm glad & surprised that MA has gone this far in clearing the ground.

If you look at the list of who's left it could get smaller with the clauses:

Walker
Coyne

Canero
Elliot
Heath
Dabizas (might leave has clause)
Thatcher (might leave has clause)

Nalis
Scowcroft
Scimeca (might leave has clause)
Stewart

Morris
Benjamin
Wright
Dickov (might leave has clause)
Ferdinand?
Bent (put an offer to him but still an Ipswich player)

That would leave us with 11 first team players if Sir Les can not play and the clauses are acted upon. Two of them are keepers

Well we all wanted a shake up and MA has definatly given us that.
Good on him.

Blimey, what a turnover!

I'm surprised we haven't kept at least one of the following 3 released within: Davidson, Billy Mac and Freund. Either Billy Mac or Freund could have done a great job for us in Division 1. With those 3 released, who do we have in midfield except for Nalis? Scimeca is certain to go West Brom, so we don't have any other options at the moment.

As for McKinlay against Arsenal, I felt he was one of our better players against on the day, he certainly wasn't bypassed in midfield as someone suggested. It was Freund's fault for the goal because he didn't track Viera the whole way. Either he or Freund should have been retained at least for cover.

I thought Hignett was on a 2 year contract? I remember Crewe boss Dario Gradi saying that it would be difficult to get Hignett because he had another year left on his contract. And I'm not sure the club are in a position to pay off any contracts.....

I'm not sure about Brooker - He might have been able to have a done a job in Division 1, but evidently Micky doesn't think that is the case.

I suppose Micky's thinking behind all of this is simply to rebuild for the future. If we were to get promoted, the question is, would any of these players be capable of playing in Premiership again? And the simple answer is no, so you can understand his thinking behind this.

I'm not at all surprised that Guppy has been released either. After that back injury he sustained, he's not looked the same player.

Overall, I think Micky has taken a huge gamle, especially in midfield. That will certainly be priority over the summer to get somone to play alongside Nalis in the centre.

I thought Freund was on loan and as such MA could not release or keep him. :?: :? :?   :P :P 8)

Muzzy - :? - We dont want him to go but we cant afford a new deal
Sinclair - :? - Sad to see him go but he is past it now
Guppy - :x - I wanted him to stay .Great at set pieces
McKinlay - :? -Sad to him go but same as Frank past it
Williamson - -Didnt really impress enough to break it through the 1st team
Davidson - - Great player when fit but MA must be worried about his constant injuries
Hignett- -Never impressed enough to be offered new contract
Freund - - Passionate player with vast experience sad to see him go
Impey - :? - Could of been useful in div1
Rogers - :) - Didnt deserve to stay becuase he was sh!t
Priet- :? - I never saw him play so cant say , but people say he was good
Murphy- :? - Not good enough to break through to first team
Lewis - :) - Didnt deserve to stay becuase he was sh!t
Jones - :? - Good player but injury prone
Gillespie - :( - Like Keith , IMO Never got a long run out in the first team to prove himself
Brooker - :( - Never given a real chance

So who's left and still under contract?
Thatcher, Elliott, Dabizas, Coyne, Scowy, Walker......any more?

Heath retained

and the youngsters bar Williamson are still around.

Is that it?

Walker
Coyne

Canero
Elliot
Heath
Dabizas
Thatcher

Nalis
Scowcroft
Scimeca
Stewart

Morris
Benjamin
Wright
Dickov
Ferdinand?

Would appear to be the desired outcome from Micky

Question of how many come in, certainly midfielders for starters
But dont we bypass midfield in division 1?

I'm well happy with this Micky, finally a good decision to sack them retirements waiti?ºþo happen.

I trust Micky's judgement 100%, and Bassetts in general. Im sure they know what they're doing.

Makes me think that Hignett was playing for peanuts, which we really should have realised when you consider crewe could afford to take him on loan.

Glad about everybody on that list except Davidson, who is th ebest left back on our books and it looks like we could be left with just Stewart next year.

I doubt Freund was looking forward to spending another year in a travel tavern or whereever he is staying, so it is no suprise to me. His marriage must be on the rocks since the pure filth in La Manga.

Looks like we are going to haver a nice young squad next year, and won't necessarilly achieve an instant return. To be honest t5his is what we need, to re build.

Totally backing Micky's judgement 100%

He's got the balls to cut out the players he has signed. Previously his hands have been tied in the transfer market because of our cripling wage bill. By cutting back the players so drastically, he has given himself more room to manouver.

With Bassett's contacts I'm sure there will be good replacements signed. Obviously they won't all be brilliant, but hey that's football!

Crewe could afford Hignett on loan because we pay the majority of the wages. Just like with Elliott at Ipswich, Impey and Rogers at Forest etc.

I can understand why Davidson has been realeased:

1) Too many injuries, and not giving value for money.
2) Supposedly not getting on with Micky.

I think you're right about Freund, but I doubt Micky wanted him for next season in the first place, so it's probably mutual on that matter.

So Trev, Elliott & Walker are the only players left on stupid Taylor contracts? Is that right?

Yeah, add Scowcroft to that list though.

Elliott is on 32k a week.

Scowcroft/Walker/Benjamin are on 15K plus a week.

And these 4 players comprise over 40% of the wage bill.

Have to agree with Melton Fox 150%... Totally gutted with Freund being released. Sorry to say it but what the chuff is Micky thinking of.. Obviously a money thing but surely we could work something out. Steffan is the closest thing to Walshie we've had in years and we need that kind of BALLS... GUTTED...... TOTALLY GUTTED. Good luck Steffan!!
