Reading The Sun today and mark Yeates is quoted as saying that RK has set the team a target of 16pts from the last 16 games. Does anybody else think this total is a little small? :102:

We should be targetting 25 points IMO

Yep I do.
This was on the site yesterday.
I think we should be aiming for around 20-25points.

typical of that useless tosser, he sets teams up so as to get a draw at best, so a point a game he is really throwing the rope out there. That gives the team bad vibes as when they win a game that then enables them to lose two and average a point a game.
No give the cnuts a rollicking and set the target at 45 points.....

defo otherwise theyll be going out onto the pitch 'playing' for a point :icon_roll

Exactly, West Brom come to the Walkers and the players will think its okay to get a point because the clown said 'we only need 16 points from 16 games'.

Regardless of our plight or not, if Kelly had any wit or charisma when asked the question 'how many points you targeted for the season'? He would of gone '48 out of 48'.

Although I don't agree with RK setting them a target, 50 points IMO will see us well safe.

I think what he said has just been misinterpreted and looked at it in the wrong way by people who are negative about anything RK says or does (which admittedly, most of the time is warranted), and his poorness in giving interviews.

RK said we need to look for a minimum of 16 points from the remaining games, so that we hit the 50 point mark which should guarantee safety. Avoiding relegation is the immediate priority, and most managers threatened with relegation usually say similar things. It doesn't mean that he only wants 16 points, just that that is the immediate target, which it is... avoiding relegation is all we've got to play for this season now realistically, and anything we do past that is a "bonus".

16 points from 16 points should be an easily acheivable target, and he's probably said that to try and take pressure off the players slightly.

We should be looking for much more than just a point a game over the rest of the season, but getting to 50 is the first aim.

Having just looked though... we've only got 17 points in our last 16 games... so maybe it's not so easy for us to get that!

Bollox to that, they are under immense pressure and they all have to acknowledge that

"Smashing those points, would loved to have got them but I've had to let them go, that's where we are. What we'll do now is look at the points on video and work hard in training to word hard and be commmited. We'll take it one point at a time like we always do."

Blah, blah, fecking blah.

Indicative of the small-time limited thinking that permeates this club right now.

Set your targets as low as you possibly can, and that is the most you will ever achieve. Sends out a message of expected under-achievement to players, coaches and fans alike

Pitiful
