He didn't leave the club in a better state at all, a worse one if anything. Just that the owners who came in afterwards are awesome.

It's a bit like saying Paulo Sousa should be praised for the job he did at Swansea because of how well Brendan Rodgers did following him.

My point was that he has sold us (to what appear to be) a good bunch of people who can take us to the next level which is what he said he would do. I thank him for that.

As it happens, I believe Milan did leave us in a better state then when he bought us but that's just my opinion.

No, Milan left the club where he found it after taking it to it's lowest league position ever. If he'd stayed any longer we'd have been in the same trouble he got us out of by buying the club.

Milan filled a gap between the potless and clueless consortium that got us out of admin and a real owner.

So you're saying that Milan got us out of trouble by buying the club, filled the gap between a potless & clueless consortium and sold us to a real owner and he doesn't deserve any thanks for moving the club forward? Seriously?

So you're saying that you think he vetted potential buyers and ensured City got someone financially viable and he didn't just snap the hand off the first offer he managed to obtain? Seriously?

I was quoting what Biffa Bacon had pointed out in his post.

Where did I mention any of what you are quoting? I have no idea how he found these investors and I am not particulalry bothered either!

Actually perhaps the one good thing MM did do was to utilise his extensive contacts to find the Thai owner. Not sure if it was simply a case of snatching the hand off the first good offer to come along....

As for the statement from the chairman, whilst they have spent money that no other club has been able to spend in the championship (even some in the premiership), let's not forget that - as far as I know - the money spent is accounted as debt on the club. So it has to be paid back to the chairman - its not handed over as a gift without strings by the owners. However many rich owners elsewhere are nowhere near inclined to release money from their own resources even as a loan/debt to the club - so this investment puts us ahead of the competition in terms of being able to invest in better players. It's almost like the clock being turned back to when Jack Walker started putting big money into Blackburn years ago and they bought their way out of the championship and into the premiership (ironically beating LCFC at the play off final). I don't know if Walker's money into the club was a gift or a loan but there is a feeling of history being revisited here.

One reason why the Thai's are in such a great hurry and why money appears almost to be no object is because I believe European rules are around the corner forcing clubs to spend only what they earn, thus meaning an end to speculative debt-ridden bubble that characterises modern foodball. Thus if the Thais are to invest in promotion they need to get it quick....

I suspect the recent name change of the stadium has already covered this one. Man City have also played this clever trick.

That means that the money coming in from King Power would be genuine revenue (to pay for the naming rights) and could not be considered a loan to the club.

Would we have ended up with the Thai owners without MM's intervention?

I don't know, but I very much doubt it.
Did we end up with some Polish chairman, no we didn't so what's the problem there?

I feel some people have it in for MM whatever.
Personally, I believe a certain amount of gratitude is no less than MM deserves.
As for this season, I have not been so excited, so optimistic at the start of a season, as a City fan since Jock Wallace took us into the then division 1.
(Under O'Neill, it was good times but I always felt we were always batting above our average)

The consortium could probably have filled the gap without heading down to the 3rd tier, sacking hundreds of managers, signing loads of dud players off youtube, generally spouting cr*p and being the most embarrasing owner city has ever had.

Let him destroy another club, he's good at it.

I'm willing to forget MM's record. He did leave us with what looks like decent owners, before he came along I felt it was only a matter of time before we would get relegated and/or go bust. Who knows what the future holds. I just want to enjoy the now and hopefully see us pushing for promotion.

No, we didnt but proved Milan's disregard who we were sold too. As per Pompey when he sold the club to an accused arms dealer.

King Power associate with politically corrupt Thai polticians. In fact fund them. Corrupt? Yes, that's right Newin Chidchob banned for five years in Thai politics.

Let's all campaign to get this corrupt lot out of our club asap then. We shouldn't put up with them any longer!
