That isn't a problem if a bit of common sense is applied. Give him a full season, if he hasn't achieved his objective, which is clearly to win promotion, and we haven't looked as though we are making progress towards achieving that aim (finishing outside the top six, for instance) then say goodbye. If we go up then great, if we don't but we go close it's probably sensible to give him another shot at it.
It seems quite simple to me. Unless we look like we're going down getting rid of a manager at this stage, or indeed at the stage at which Eriksson was sacked, is bloody madness. A manager is given a budget and an aim for a football season. Until the achievement of those aims becomes impossible, or at least looks extremely unlikely, we should let them get on with it. No such judgement can be made after six matches of a season.
I think most people's panic and frustration stems from not knowing how long the Thai's are willing to back a losing horse. If we miss out this season they could quite easily call it a day. If they're prepared to give it more time, I think most fans would be a lot more patient.
