Just caught this on SSN, the Togo bus has been apparently shot at and according to Galeski? three of the players are in a bad way. These reports are comfirmed on BBC as well now.

Not the best start to the African Nations which starts on Sunday.

Off the BBC -

A bus carrying Togo's national football team to the Africa Cup of Nations has been hit by machine-gun fire, injuring two players, reports say.

The reported incident occurred as the bus was crossing into Angola from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Africa Cup of Nations is due to start in Angola on Sunday.

Togo's first game is to be played on Monday in the oil-rich northern territory of Cabinda, where rebels have been fighting for independence.

Sorry I accidentaly put Angola in the title.

It was Togo who were shot at and I think they were on their way to Angola.

Adebayor was on the bus.

Bet Blatter's shitting himself now. Everyone knew the World Cup in Africa would be a complete balls up.

wonder what odds you will get on the Brazilian team being blown up?

Might be worth a punt.

Angola is ****ing miles away from South Africa, and in a completely different social enviroment after years of civil war. Just because theres been trouble there doesn't mean there will be in SA, even if it has its own problems

Distance on that continent means nothing. The mental attitude of the people are the same though

Even by your standards thats a ridiculous generalisation!

How many African countries after gaining independence have not had some sort of civil war, civil unrest. military take over or tinpot dictators?

I can only think of South Africa, but they also have suffered a lot of civil unrest.
