Manchester City's ex-England winger Trevor Sinclair has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife.

The Premiership star was taken into custody at 2am on Saturday, questioned at Wilmslow Police Station and later freed on bail, reports the Daily Mirror.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "On July 10th, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been interviewed and is currently on police bail."

His arrest apparently followed a row with his wife, Natalie, at a party.

The player's agent was unavailable for comment. However, friends claimed he and Natalie are still together and the row was just "a storm in a tea cup".

Sinclair, currently in pre-season training with Manchester City, signed for the Blues in a £2.5m deal last year after leaving West Ham.

At least its not a leicester player :?

JAMAICAN soccer international Onandi Lowe was today charged with attempting to possess crack cocaine with intent to supply.

A spokesman from Northamptonshire Police confirmed the 30-year-old Lowe was charged after answering police bail.

A 23-year-old London woman was also charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.

Both were arrested on April 14 in central England.

The pair were bailed to appear before Wellingborough Magistrates' Court on August 3.

After his arrest, Lowe was suspended from representing Jamaica.

He was also sacked by his first division club Coventry City at the end of last season in May.

Lowe, who scored in Jamaica's 2-0 victory over Uruguay in a friendly game in Kingston in February, played as a defender in the 1998 World Cup.
