we have enough difficult in midfield when their are 4 there what happens if there are 3. You're making a light weight midfield even lighter!!

i disgree, if all midfielders play central it gives them an extra man in the midle and they should always have a passing option. with no threat in the air we wont suffer from the lack of width.

MON played 3 CMs. it might even work with tiatto and maybury playing as wing backs? although it would mean Tiatto staying out wide, and i'm not sure maybury has the pace or energy to keep tracking back, so maybe not.

Whilst Kelly has had very limited resources in the transfer market, he was still able to sign 4 players in the transfer window, two of each have siginifcant experience at not only this level but also the premiership. In turn Kelly only lost Gudjonsson and chose to pay off a couple of 'fringe' players.

Armed with a squad containing a fair amount of quality, players such as McCarthy, Kisnorbo, Kenton, Stearman, Johnson, Williams, Hughes, Hume, Fryatt and Weso have the ability to be a match to most opposition in the division, so we are hardly scraping the bottom of the barrel are we ??? However what Kelly has failed to achieved this season, is what his two predecessors also failed to achieve and that is too motivate and be tactically astute enough to win games of football on a consistent basis. And therefore bearing in mind that currently lie in the lower bottom half of another mediocre Championship bears testament to why RK is likely to be shown the door when Mandaric arrives.

My question is to everyone I was talking to this with my Dad on Saturday at the Hinckley game.

We have no money and there were bids for three players in the Summer. Kisnorbo, Wigan rumoured 2million-3, Stearman 1 million, Maybury below 400k.

Now forevision is a great thing but would anyone agree with selling Kisnorbo for 2 to 3 players with the money from Wigan?!?!

The Maybury deal was a sham, should of sold him, we have 2 right-backs.

I just feel its slightly bad asset management.

How about.......Low, Hughes, Johnson, Welsh. That should frighten any opposition.

The point about 4-3-3 is that it would use the 'best' players in positions they are reasonably comfortable in.

That is possibly the worst ever midfield in the clubs recent history..or ever.

We have had worse individual players, but not 4 that bad at one time

And Kelly signed 3 of them!!

Can anybody remember a worse 4???

Trouble with our midfield is they get the sh*t kicked out of them in comparison to almost every other midfield.

Bung Weso and Tiattio in the middle and a few teams might lose a bit of confidence after the first 15 or so minutes of being brutalised!

We need bite and pacey wings.

I can only go back a mere 54 years but....I am convinced that this is the poorest squad in all that time; worse than McLintock's men (who were playing in the top tier anyway); worse than the Pleat regime and the Bryan Hamilton regime. The poorest midfield ever turned out in Leicester colours....and a manager who , in my opinion, scarcely portrays himself as manager at all. I guess he would have preferred to remain a coach and an assistant/ number 2. The bottom line is that after the short lived post-Levein mini-boom, things have sunk back to the Levein results pattern.

It's not fair to have put RK in the job and it's also not fair that providing and as soon as MM takes over, RK will be out. But that's football - and as soon as the present lot move aside (which to give them credit they are seeking to do)..hopefully, Leicester City will start to move forward as a better run football club.

On another thread, there is treatment of the matter of ludicrous statements and quotes about "morale still being high".....this cannot be the case and as stated there it is an insult to supporters to say that it is so.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but we all remember how bad we were under Levein. Shite football, no idea etc

At the start of the season i went to one of those q&a thing with Rob Kelly and he kept banging on about putting round pegs in round holes. Playing players in thier best position and not having them all over the place. A think the example he used was Kisnorbo at Centre half.

I believe the good run at the end of last season was down to this and fair play to Kelly. He did very very well. All of a sudden though this season we have players playing in different positions from week to week.

Examples include Stearman in midfield, we've even seen momo have run outs from centre midfield. There's no real consistency. Along with this we don't seem to have a plan B

based on reputation and pottential, we should have a decent midfield

Low - low was a fairly decent player in the lower leagues, he doesn't seem to be able to make the step up, but there is only ever one way to find out.

Sylla is a better option in terms of ability, but i think he suffers more than anyone from being in a team nt playing well.

hughes came with rave reviews about his pottential (CL said one of the most exciting midfielders in scotland, and to be fair the media pundits seemed to agree) and his performances when he first came suggested good things.

Johnson is a proven player, his ability isn't in doubt.

Williams has also proved in flashes that he has the ability to perform at a much higher level.

Weso has shown enough to suggest he could be a very good player if he stays fit

Welsh, also proven at this level,

the problem is not ability, decent players doing poorly. this is down to a combination of their own personalities (williams and sylla are lazy) tactics (we have 'ball playing midfilders' playing hoof ball) and motivation.

two of those the manager should be able to control, and the lazy players, should be used in the right way (Williams came here as a play maker, taking the ball from the defence and distributing it, he wasn't asked to battle and run around lot, where as we brought him here to be a creative, attacking player, which needs a lot more work)

i think low johnson welsh sylla and to a lesser extent hughes are crap

i agree, but sylla johnson and welsh have proved elsewhere that they are ten times better than what we are seeing. i think our midfield problems are down to other factors than ablility.

I'd have to disagree with a couple of things there. Johnson used to be good but for us he looks completely off the pace and has arguably been one of our worst performers this season.

I wouldn't say Andy Welsh is proven at this level either, IMHO i don't think he offers us anything at all. He lacks pace, a touch and any strength
