It's in the Mirror too

Milan Mandaric is on the verge of selling Leicester - after agreeing a £26m takeover with a group of mystery Thailand businessmen.

Mandaric was last night inching closer to a buy-out that will see the Foxes receive a substantial financial injection.

The 71-year-old has been locked in secret talks for the last three weeks - assisted by super agent Pini Zahavi - and a deal for an initial investment of 49 per cent should be completed shortly with a full takeover to come later.

The consortium have agreed to pump in major funds for new boss Paulo Sousa in a bid to take the club back to the Premier League.

Mandaric will eventually hand over full control to the consortium.

Sousa’s job is 100% safe as it is understood the new owners played a major part in the selection process after Nigel Pearson’s departure.

I wonder if the shirt sponsorship is connected with this buy out?
Either the Organisation behind the consortium are the shirt sponsors or whoever is the shirt sponsor will only finalise the deal once the buy out has been signed and sealed and that is why it is all hush hush

Ian stringer has just been talking about this on radio leics. He says he spoke too a representative of MM and he said it is a partnership but there was no denial and it could be pretty imminent.

Well I for one welcome our new 'mystery Thailand businessman' overlords (British investigative journalism at its best). I would like to remind them that as a trusted TB poster I could be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sweatshops and ladyboy parlours

Racist.

I've spent a lot of time in Thailand and I can confirm that it is a wonderful, beautiful country inhabited by genuinely nice people. It's not all ladyboys and loving you long time, there's a LOT more to the Kingdom of Thailand than that. Let's have a bit of respect.

What am I saying? OK then, let's have loads more sex jokes...

Just remember though, Cardiff have apparently received a big cash injection lately and it hasn't helped them, so don't suddenly expect us to be spending millions on players.

Booooooooo!!!

i can't understand how having more money (if spent correctly on the right players and also getting rid of the deadwood i.e Oakley, Howard, etc) would be a bad thing??
or is it that people just enjoy watching an average team play each week?
help me out people, talk to me, embrace me, enlighten me.

I'd like this process to slow down a bit, I don't think I'm ready for Ted's show so hope whatever investment/take over may happen at least takes place after this week is finished

That's not the bit people are worried about. It's the bit where you find out it's all borrowed against the club and we can't pay it back, or the bit where they get bored and feck off back to ping pong land, or the bit where they sell off all the players etc etc etc.

Is Mandaric about to allow that while he still has a share (the massive borrowing secured against club assets - or officially lent to the club by these new partners?)

We have no power anyway, we're just along for the ride.

I hope we resign David Connolly.
