I would imagine that Plan B would involve some or all of the following :

a) Re visit to the Ground share

b) Sale of 2 or 3 of the more saleable assets in the squad - Stearman, Kisnorbo and Hume could command fees totalling in excess of 5m between them IMO.

c) New rights issue, would attract additional investment, possibly from sources who are either not prepared or in a position to buy the club outright (Martin George and David Wilson for example).

You will notice that I referred to 'options' rather than 'rival bids'.

Unfortunately bids for a club like ours with the ground in hock - or at least bids that might provide significant additional resources - are going to be very thin on the ground. We all knew this.

If - and I fear it is when - the MM deal falls through, I would have thought that ground share was the most realistic option assuming the board take the view that a status quo situation isn't viable.

Is there another concert planned :icon_bigg

In that case the no more than 10% holding would have to go out of the window. ;)

"would expect a full and complete explanation"

We have made this clear to the board that if the takeover does not go ahead they need to be as open as legally possible about why it didn't & then detail what plan B is.

This statement has come as a complete surprise to me - it could almost be read as an indication that the FT is in favour of the deal.

However, as far as a Plan B goes, can anybody seriously suggest that this board will have one. They are well-known for their inability to chew gum and fart at the same time; how can we have an expectation that they will have had the time to devise a Plan B whilst considering the bid?

I would guess the deal is close to completion. It does appear that the FT are "glory hunters" and only want to support the team that is "winning". I may be wrong, but it does appear the case

There is no plan B. FACT

... the fans wouldn't like the sound of other options

Ground Share
Loans (further debt - gamble)
Sale of Several Assets

to name but a few

I've got a suggestion for an option which I think a truthful board could suggest, albeit one that the fans wouldn't like. How about the board announcing that we are a small club who has been punching above its weight for about 15 years now and they intend to stabilise the club at its present level. Forget about the Premiership for the forseeable future and just concentrate on the survival of the club.

Come to think of it, that's exactly what they have been doing without having the guts to be honest about it. In my book, nothing wrong with the tactic - and probably better for the long-term future of the club.

The only thing that could blow your theroy out of the water is that we aren't stabilising. We are declining but occasionally a warm current will give us some more momentum and hope. This usually disappears and we begin to sink again.

I too do believe what you say Boc and the current regime has totally forgot that Prem football exists. The problem is, they have also forgot that div 1 football exists.

Replace Rob Kelly with an adequate manager who can get these current players playing and we won't need Manadaric. The problem is we need Mandaric to employ a decent manager, the current board seem totally incapable and lack the networking clout to find this man

We have the players, but they don't have any form of motivation or footballing plan

But we are stabilising - this will be our third consecutive finish in the bottom half of the Chapionship. Why don't we all forget about the Premier League -
at least for the moment? If we get there, we haven't got the base to support any length of stay there. I'm sure this is what the present board have in mind - even though they don't admit it.

As for the present players being good enough, I don't think they are any better or any worse than the manager. They are all, including RK, godd enough for where we are now - not good enough for any higher - and too good to allow us to go any lower. Why not just stay here where it's warm and cuddly? And just to be completely clear to everybody, this is not a trolling post - it is my sincere belief that we would be better off if we ignored the worst aspects of our ambitions.

i did notice, i said some people, because other comments have given me that impression, that statement was not a reply to you. ;)

AMBITION and the desire to better yourself would be the reason I want progress.

Football is about promotion and relegation fighting. I see no point in going, watching or getting involved in any way shape or form if we have nothing to play for other than hanging around the middle of the league for eternity

...unless the foxy ladies come back of course.

Melts you keep saying we need a new manager but who is out there that can do any better in our current situation? RK is no Martin O'Neil but do you really think someone fresh can come in and make a difference?

I think that comment was tongue in cheek wasnt it Melts?:icon_roll

Taking this question literally, are you suggesting that Rob Kelly is the best manager in the world and nobody else could do any better with the current Leicester team?

My answer to your question is Yes, I do believe somebody else can come in and do a better job
