I am - he's doing a brilliant job with those Ibstock youngsters.
Hold on a mo'. Newton has told you something as though it's a matter of fact, and your brain is allowing you to run with that story :102:

Have a fecking word with your noodle Spion, Newts is a serial fantasist, he's on his own planet he his.:icon_lol:

But he looked me in the eye when he told me. People don't do that when they are lying or stretching the truth do they :102:

;)

Just come back, we didnt deserve the three points today. When we have the ball we dont know what to do with it, and whenever someone trys to get it forward, theyll just hoof it:icon_roll . Newton i thought improved, he did one or two good things. I dont agree with what people are saying about fryatt, i thought he played well at times, but needs to improve his heading. Sheehan wasnt used well enough and stearman still fails to show me how hes in the first team ahead of others. Collins John played ok, it looked like he scuffed the goal though lol. Carl cort didnt do as badly as people are saying, he was only on for like 10 mins anyway:102:.

What i found funny was when fryatt was throwing the free shirt into the crowd it didnt even reach the fans so he had to go and get it and throw it again :icon_lol:. Oh and on a miserable travel home due to traffic i was glad to see my question for mattock was in the programme.:).

Sounded like another uninspiring defensive minded performance. From what I can tell, the only difference between this performance and the one at Scunthorpe or at home to Sheffield United was the fact that, like at Hillsborough, we happened to get two set piece goals. Where the **** would we be if it was not for Patrick Kisnorbo. Set up the first today and scored the second. Did the same down at Palce this season, scored up at Hillsborough, oh and he and the other two have been rock solid at the back. I don't think thier keeper had a save to make. From open play we seemed to crerate very little if anything.

Get a new manager in ASAP and lets start playing attacking football. I was going to say lets start playing attacking football 'again; but I can't remember the last time we did.

Can i just ask which realistic manager you would get in to make us play this amazing attacking football?

I don't think our squad has players capable of such a style of play, we have no attcking midfielders in the whole club who seem like getting near the line up.

Even when we have a fully fit centre pairing, we are still unable to create because weso and clemence are both defensive minded.

No manager in the world could make a midfield containing james chambers, newton and god knows what other odd end an attacking outfit.

Maybe the fault lies with MA and MM for being a bunch of useless ***** in the transfer market.

Or maybe we're just shit.
That's my take on it anyways

I thought Newton had a good game. Some of his touches and passes let him down, but a regular place in the side will soon improve that.

I wasn't Chambers biggest fan at first and he has been relitively poor so far this season, but I think he's really improved these last couple of games, lets hope it continues.

thats cause chambers is a right back not a central midfielder....thought today papered over all the cracks...2dead balls..2free headers...2goals..not much else to get excited about.there is hope for us though, and that is that all the opposition that come down here are shite as well...and the refs.

I think that is spot on.

You choose your formation and tactics based on the make up of the playing staff rather than how you would like to play. I guess all managers would ideally like to play flowing attacking football.

I am very glad Megson has gone but he did manage to improve the defence because he had the players to do that.

Until there is some creative quality in mid field we are not likely to play attractive football.

For some poeple the pint is half-full Andy - for others it is half-empty...and yet for you it seems to be the wrong pint altogether, at the wrong temperature, that tastes of piss and has a fag floating in the top.

Why are people so unreasonable in their expectations?

If everytime you sleep with a scummy Chavslag she gives you crabs - the odds are that the next time you sleep with her she will give you crabs.

Richard Stearmen is that slag.

From where I was it seemed to be touch and go if his effort would even manage to trickle as far as the goal line never mind cross it!

agreed

stearman and fryatt were shite, thats my summary of the game. the 'usual suspects' were criticised as always but were not in the same league of shiteness as those two planks. shoot the ****in pair of them. any time fryatt does anything shit a bunch of 14/15 year olds up the back of the stand start duh duh duh for him, why? i'd love to know why they love him so much, if he has a cracking pair of norks then i will stop complaining but i've a feeling its something very gay

I must have been at a different game!

First 20 minutes were pretty poor, passing was sloppy and Barnsley had their one chance of the game and probably should have scored.

After 20mins until Half Time I thought we played as well as I've seen for a while, there looked to be a consistent attempt to pass the ball to feet and there was some good patient buld up, players not afraid to keep possession even if it means going back to start again with Kisnorbo/N'Gotty and McCauley.

For that 25 min period until half time we played well, Weso ran the midfield and Newton started to play with a bit of confidence, Fryatt held the ball up well and linked midfield and attack and the wing backs started to actually enter the final third.

At 2-0 and Weso off, the second half saw Barnsley come into it again as they commited men forward against a team without a single central midfielder on the pitch. The work rate of Stearman, Fryatt, Chambers and even Newton (apart from one cross he jogged over to block) was superb and N'Gotty was a rock at the back.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I can't recall a decent effort Barnsley had in the 2nd half and we basically saw the game out without any difficulty.

Anyone expecting us to carve chances and run up a cricket score in the 2nd half with a right winger, right back and centre forward in midfield are idiots, it was obvious the 2nd half plan was to protect the lead which we did easily.

Stearman put in some superb crosses in the 2nd half and got better as the game went on.

Fryatt had little quality service in the final third but worked his arse off and when the ball was given to his feet he kept the ball well and I thought played pretty well - created a few chances of his own late in the 2nd half.

One final point, Sheehan's delivery from set pieces was superb, a real asset.

Ref was terrible yesterday, remember seeing him at gillingham and he was changed at half time cos he made so many bad desicions. Don't know how hes gone up a league.

Hoped Andy Johnson was on the team yesterday, he would have got an interesting reception..

The sooner Chambers is moved to right back/right wing back and Stearman drops to the bench is when LCFC sees an immediate improvement. Newton was quite good yesterday, I think the balance of opinion on here agrees. Jury is split on Fryatt but I personally think from what I saw he is back to the demotivated shell of a player that he has become.
