Like Wolves the Silverfox/Drummindefender consortium is waiting in the wings to swoop!

Yes, and that is why Andrew Taylor was brought in to try to get additional investment. As he has discovered, and as have the Chairmen of about 86 of the other clubs, there are not that many people out there willing to invest/throw away considerable amounts of money with no promise of a return.

As I see it the bottom line is that Leicester City would be stronger with MM on board. You have acknowledged above that there are few potential investors about and the inference that should probably (not certainly) drawn from the due diligence is that the club is in an even weaker state than we feared.

The board itself has more or less acknowledged that it is not fit for purpose and when you take away all the silliness - including the pratting around of the FT etc - we almost certainly need MM more than he needs us.

I was talking to some bloke the other day, he reckons these two funded their fortune through the monopolisation of gay porn.
we could never have done it without you hazz-with it being your lifelong passion you came in as a financial backer so you could fulfill your dream of owning all the gay porn ever published-me and silver think the stuff is filth-but were getting filthy rich from it.

Where are all these other bids that we supposedly had?

Where they always were - in people's imaginations. The statement early in this saga that the club were "examinaing various options fo raising new finance" led to the hyperactive among us to turn that into rival bids.

Anybody thought about a deal that would not involve the out right purchase of the Walkers?

I did but then I realized that my £100 quid still probably wouldn’t be enough for the current shareholders, greedy ba***rds.

I don't understand why MM is undertaking to purchase the ground - he is under no obligation to do so. The deal for the stadium with Teachers is ring-fenced so he does not have to buy the stadium out or renegotiate the arrangement as it stands. The deal for the stadium is agreed in such a way that it provides the Club very little short term bother financially whilst we remain in the Championship.

Any thoughts?

who said he was going to buy it?

Perhaps other more attractive options have become available to Mandaric and he is not quite as keen as he first appeared, throwing in a curve ball or two regarding the clubs finances may just provide him with a feasible escape route without causing himself too much embarrasment.

It seems to me that these leaks to the press from both parties appear to be preparing the fans for disappointment, would not at all be surprised to hear an announcement in the next few days saying the deal is dead.

Might also explain the sudden upturn in results !!!

Yes - I have to say that I have always been doubful it would happen - and the odds look really long now.

There is something about Leicester that inevitably messes things up. I have banged on about the FT - but I genuinely think they have been cats paws in stirring up negativity....and now it looks like the DD has thrown up unexpected additional financial weaknesses - all to go along with the impression that MM himself has unfinished business with the sale of Pompey.

I too expect the announcement of failure.....probably along with the Christmas turkey and first broken toys.

who said he was going to buy it?

If we assume the deal is worth £25m (as reported by the BBC and the Leic Merc) and we say that shareholders buyout is apx £6m - what is the rest of the money going towards? Unlikely £19m is being made available towards transfers, thus I had (wrongly maybe) thought that £15m apx was going towards buying the training facility, fixtures and fittings and the stadium - leaving the rest for working capital.

For what it's worth, I think MM is doing whatever he can to get the club to agree to a lower level of investment, be that in the share purchase or what he puts into the club. He is a successful businessman ( so he says ) and whatever he can knock off the asking price is more money left in his pocket. I cannot imagine DD has shown anything he would not have guessed at already, ie the performance of the team since the date of the last audited accounts has impacted on revenues.

In terms of getting Leicester promoted, buying the ground would be low in MM's priorities. That is why I have always thought the £25 million figure was a load of baloney.

The Foxes Trust have suggested the bid is likely to be nowhere near £25mil which is the only varifiable 'inside' information we have. eveything else can only be considered speculation. whether you believe the FT is another matter, but its the nearest thig we have to an official statement

as a side note to your post, i believe we still own the training facility

Central News claims they have spoken to MM and that everything is still going through and we should just be patient.

On East Midlands Today as well. MM feels more money needs to be spent on the squad. No shit Sherlock.....

Anyway, sounds promising.
