Much as I despise Sam Hamaam for nearly bankrupting our club after leaving, I still have some admiration for his approach to players wages. 1 year contracts, bonus incentives featuring heavily and even pay as you play contracts all meant that players were motivated to achieve instead of sitting back and watching the cash roll in.

It's the way forward, just needs the majority of clubs worldwide to sign up to it.

yep. its exactly how I would run a club.

eg. 2k week basic wage.
3k win bonus.
200k promotion bonus.

once in EPL

basic wage remains at 2k week.
avoid relegation 500k bonus.

meaning if relegated the wage bill is exactly the same (actually less due to less win bonuses) , as most of the wages are made of bonuses.

But its like you said if only one club does it they going to have a hard time attracting players.

Forward planning by Beckford. He can afford the pay cut if he has a giant cut in his travelling costs if the Club and training ground are on his doorstep

The saving in his travelling costs will be insignificant when related to the size of the pay-cut. The only reason he has accepted the pay-cut is that City are paying him the difference between his new contract amount and the amount they would have paid him over the remainder of his contract.

@FourthOfficial_ has tweeted "Good luck to Jermaine Beckford at Bolton, great lad #BWFC"

Just goes to show the constraints Pearson has been working under and explains why Beckford and Danns were both left on the sidelines and then farmed out on loan, as it has been reported that Danns was one appearance from activating a contract extension.

having a medical today according to RL, should all be sorted in next 24 hours

So just to confirm, we are no longer to be called 'Big spending Leicester' by every Twat in football?

Won't hear it from me.

I see you guys are splashing the cash. £8.5m on Cornelius, whose had one good season and could turn out to be a Danish version of Jamie Vardy. And now potentially £11m on Celtic's Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Best part of £20m on two players. I do hope you stay up.......
